That reminds me of my bf's story about how she missed her exit in southern cali to get to work and before there was another exit she was in Tiawana. Her mom still laughs about the COLLECT international phone call my bf made to her for directions on how to get back to where she needed to be.

Wow! Someone actually did that? My former roomate used to always laugh at her Mom, who was afraid to drive anywhere that she'd not already been to and knew the route perfectly, because she was sure that no matter what direction she was going, somehow, she'd make a wrong turn and end up lost in Mexico. We always assumed this was some bizarre irrational phobia type thing or something.

Apparently, her fears were warranted...

Honestly though. The big signs saying "international border" along the freeway didn't provide a hint? And then the big multicolored sign with the word MEXICO didn't do it? The last stretch of freeway is more like a roadway. You can simply pull off at any point right up to the actual crossing (and there's parking lots and stuff too!).

You could start your day of snow ski'ing and end it laying around on a beach.

It's been done. I loved my weekends of surfing Friday, skiing Saturday and then biking/hiking Sunday. Then moaning in bed Monday and calling in to work.

You know what's worse? Somehow I MISSED VEGAS ENTIRELY when driving to it from San Diego. My friends and I ended up 2 hours North of Vegas before we realized something was wrong. I know, I know, how the hell when it's only the 15 you take, but somehow we missed it. 4 girls in a car with a roadmap is sometimes not a good combination.
