So I broke down yesterday and bought a brand new bedroom set. Headboard, dresser with mirror, night-stand, mattress and box spring. Let's face it, my old bed was the cheapest queen size I could get at the BX at the time, and that was over 10 years ago. It was over-due.
My question is, should I tip the delivery guys? They come tomorrow to bring in everything, and the set it all up, and they are taking away my old bed for disposal (incineration at the nearest toxic waste facility). I would guess that you do, assuming they do a good job and don't knock any holes in the walls. But how much?
Generally, these types of delivery guys are driving company trucks so they don't have to worry about paying for their own gas. But because they do quite a bit of effort setting up everything. When I had my furniture delivered a few years ago, the delivery guys (2 of them) got $10 each from me, and a bag of freshly-baked cookies.

I would tip them, depending on how well and polite they are. Would also offer a cold drink or... maybe a crack rock. Then dance around your den almost naked, with your tighty whiteys jacked up like a thong, bugged eyed and ranting about a over cooked pie. All done as they pass the pipe while taking a breather on your couch. While blarring out old show tunes with your stereo, and tossing sugar in the air.
I can see them now, "You should get that mole checked out."
Or this. Yeah, this is better.
