NEW YORK (AP) -- A judge is this dog's best friend.

Bebe, a 5-year-old bichon frise, a fluffy little white dog, was given an order of protection after a man was accused of beating him.

What the hell is next? Pain and suffering lawsuits from cockroaches? Wrongful death lawsuits from ant colonies? Negligence from cats with poopy boxes?

What a freakin' crazy world.

While I think the courts can be a bit overzealous, I don't think it is right to allow anyone to viciously beat any animal.

I'm not suggesting that it is ok to beat an animal, but giving a dog a restraining order?? Come on.

Well does it keep him from the dog legally?

This clownshoe obviously sounds like an ***. The courts were basically trying to keep him away from the dog. Though jail time would have been much more effective.

Convict1: Hey man why're you in?
Convict2: Because I beat a white fluffy dog.
Convict1: Turn around; take it like a man *****.
