There's an end of summer barbecue slated for Sunday. Other than that, I'll probably just get as high as possible since I did the drug test for my job yesterday.

So you are definitely hired now? Have fun getting high! Never thought I'd say that, but meh, it's almost the weekend and I'm a tad floopy today.

Well, my weekend started on a wonderful note. I was planning to go to the office and completely organize my office, my files and my boss' office as he is out of the office today so I could start plowing through all the work that has fallen by the wayside in the last few months. But my youngest one developed overnight a fever of 102.8. Been alternating Motrin and Tylenol every 3 hours and I'll be making a big old pot of chicken soup, even though it's 97 degrees today. Throwing my son's first birthday party this weekend. His B-day was actually on the 25th, but I deferred the celebration to allow the ex to have a small party that weekend with some family and friends.

I plan on having the remnants of hurricane Ernesto rain all over me for three days. Maybe I Will go to the movies? Is there anything worth seeing?

I'll be standing by the side of the road flipping the bird and mooning the citiots as they leave my neighborhood and return to thier natural habitat, all the while delighting in the notion that a storm named after an illegal immigrant will be wiping out their Labor Day barbecues.

Now if we could only get a REAL storm to come along and wipe their overpriced beach houses into the ocean.

I've heard The Illusionist isn't too bad, but not from any really reliable sources. I was thinking of checking it out.

Jonwin has to work all weekend. Ernesto shorten his hours today, but the only way they would completely close for the 3 day weekend is if the Inner Harbor got flooded again.

Since Monday was my parents anniversary my daughter and I may try to visit my mom's grave.

I just spend the night at oldest so I could watch the baby while she took 4 year old to his first 2 days of Pre-K. I love the grandkids, but 30 hours of being over there and 4 year old acting up the whole time, because I would have to go home today, was bit much. Mummy and daddy needed the help though as daddy stab his hand cutting pie and mommy had 2 moles removed so they were bit short handed.

I did stop by the store on my way home, where I pick up for him a box of 96 crayons and his sister some fat washable ones, plus each a doodle pad, so next time they visit, I don't have to let them use my good drawing paper.

My mom's coming tomorrow, so I get to:

1) Play FFXI! Woot!!
2) Nag my husband to stop ingoring her.
3) Play FFXI! Weehoo!!

She called today and said she made my kids two more blankets.... wtf is with the blankets? I am not joking, we have over 20 kids blankets. Does this influx of blankets ever stop???

I hear it can get cold at night where you live, Pikko. She doesn't want them to get cold.

Working all day Saturday, and taking care of the dog since the rest of the family is out of town. I scored cheap tickets to the Cubs game on Sunday, so I'm going to spend the day down in Wrigleyville, see the game, then get drunk at a friend's place and spend the night. No school on Monday, so if I don't work, I'll likely stay downtown and goof around all afternoon, then head back home at night and get ready for school on Tuesday.

Good luck, DSD!! Our house passed all inspections and everything was cleared yesterday. Just waiting for the owners to fix all the things we asked them to do, and then it'll be ours! Let the painting commennce.

Ugh.

I'll be painting. Hehe. I'll wear a mask though and open lots of windows. I'll just be doing the edges and he'll roller - I would have such a backache otherwise!! Speaking of which, I have a nice massage booked in an hour, YAY!!!!

Ernesto was fine. The worst of it happened very early Friday morning. The power was out for a few hours from about 3:30 to 5 a.m. (yes, I was awake). It was very windy and rainy but not crazy. It's cooled NC down a bit which is great.
