When it comes to cooking I blow the girlfriend out of the water (aren't I humble). However deep within her Mennonite DNA is the God given gift to bake. Her baking is enough to make a man weep with joy.

We were made for each other!

So I was at work the other day and someone had ordered pizza hut and I noticed it spelled very strongly of baby shit. Now normally, i'm a great hater of green olives and things that taste disticntly like shit, but seeing as I hadn't eaten all day (this was ten hours in), I broke down and had a slice.

Suffice to say, it was very, very tasty. The only problem was, for the rest of the night my burps tasted like baby shit. Smiley: laugh

Pineapple should never be anywhere near a pizza and you should all be publicly flogged for suggesting it.

I always think of Hawaiian as the kids pizza, as they are the only people who can stand it. And why do they always add pineapple to vegetarian pizza? It isn't a vegetable!

I was hungry before I read this thread, I'm starving now.

Ham (on special occasions in special restaurants you should definately exchange this for prosciutto di parma, if available)
Extra cheese (Gruyere, mozzarella, kashkaval, basically any yellow cheese that's not too tangy)
Mushrooms
Black olives

And deep dish all the way.

I disagree. Shrimp, Calamari, and Scallops on a White pie is one of the best pizzas I have ever had.

In the early 70's my parents would take us to Uno's or Duo's for dinner, while we visited our Sister in college. Nothing was better then having a salad with house dressing and then dig into the Large deep dish pizza. As far as I thought there was no better pizza to be had back then.

Then they became a nation chain, and I took, my kids there. Gone was ordering a large cheese pizza for the family. We had to order everyone a different small pan pizza with long lists of toppings and they just didn't taste the same as I remembered. At least I could still get the house dressing, until it was realized that I was allergic to the bi-sulfites in the vinegar. Now I won't waste my money going there.

As for toppings, I have to have black olives and mushrooms.

Artichokes, spinach, eggplant and ripe tomatoes are nice too when I can find them. Meat wise I'm looking for good Italian sausage.

I don't believe you.

It is Pizza del Mar and it is yummy. If you are extra daring (and have a deep seeded hatred for your health) you can add a light alfredo sauce to the mix.

Suasage, both Sweet and Hot Italian, crumbled, not sliced, with diced peppers and garlic. It is then smothered with a second layer of cheese, all this on top of an already done pie, therefore double baked to finish. The second layer of cheese baked seperate from the first is the key, just adding the extra cheese at the begining produces a too greasy pie that the cheese just slides off of.
