NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - For women who have had unexplained recurrent miscarriages, treatment with aspirin or another blood-thinner to prevent blood clots seems to improve their chances of delivering a live infant, researchers in
Israel report.

The formation of blood clots, or thrombosis, is believed to be one possible cause of recurrent miscarriage, they explain in the medical journal Fertility and Sterility, but it is unclear whether prevention of thrombosis can increase live birth rates.

To investigate, Dr. Mordechai Dolitzky from Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, and colleagues compared the effect of preventing blood clots with aspirin or enoxaparin -- a form of heparin -- in 104 pregnant women with a history of unexplained recurrent miscarriages.

The live birth rate was over 81 percent in both groups, the researchers report. They say this rate exceeds the expected live birth rate of 40 percent to 60 percent among women with recurrent miscarriages.

Five women in each group had preterm deliveries and neonatal complications were somewhat more common in the aspirin group.

"Both treatment regimens were associated with a good pregnancy outcome in terms of live births and late pregnancy complications," Dolitzky and his colleagues conclude.

"In view of the minimal risks of enoxaparin and aspirin to the mother and fetus," they recommend that "either form of treatment should be considered in women after three or more pregnancy losses."

Having sex with humans as opposed to horses tends to also help with fertility.

Are you trying to say her husband is hung like a horse?

And how would you know?

I thought Mexicans were hung like 2 year olds? Isn't that why they have Donkey Shows?

I simply offered a good sound piece of advice; Stick to your species when trying to procreate. It may not be as fun for some of the hotdog-down-a-hallway ladies of the night, but it's far more effective.

Building on Bhodi's point, this absolutely does not help in procreation.

That article is actually very interesting. I have another two months of Climid to go before they'll start doing any major testing to see whats not working. We think that because I've had problems with exploding ovarian cysts in the past that my fallopian tubes may be blocked. They plan to go in with a scope at my next appt (if I'm not pregnant) and "zap" any scar tissue they may find, along with jolting my ovaries. I've been on a combination of clomid and glucophage (which is suppossed to help those with PCOS level out their hormones) for a few months now with out any luck. The doctor did a sperm analysis on Mr.Katie and declared him in the top 10% for motility and sperm count, so in other words, Mr.Katie has the Super Sperm!

Kind of on the same subject, if I had a dime for every person who's givin me advice on positions, home remedies, asked me when its going to happen, advice on sex timing, hips up/down or tried to make me feel better by saying how lucky we are to have a child free life, I'd be a billionare. FuCking douche bags need to learn when to shut the hell up, lest the ovely emotional Katie goes postal on their asses.

In other news, I start college in October. Going back for computer science and web design.

My prediction: you'll be pregnant by Christmas (assuming Mr. Katie is available in the interim).

Let's hope! I DO NOT want to carry through summer! From the side pain I had about the time I was suppossed to ovulate, either I ovulated or had another cyst burst. Either way I'm not mentioning it until I go see my doctor in 2 months, I DO NOT want to be taken off the Clomid and they would in a heart beat if they think it was a cyst.

Maybe it's God telling you that you shouldn't pass on your genes to an innocent child.

Or nature's way of keeping defects out of the system.

But congrats on your efforts to continue the degradation of the human genome despite Mother Nature's best defenses.

Nice! Congratulations!

Unfortunately, the gods of irony do seem to grant babies to those who are going back to school/work as well as those who adopt too.

Bursting ovarian cysts? Mr Katie must be hung like an icepick.

Since you're going back to school, maybe you could find a coed to carry for you. Some of the websites I frequent are based solely on the principle that college girls are broke and will do anything for cash.

No no, I've already had many offers of people willing to surrogate. Its not happening, atleast not until I've exhausted every possible test/medicine/surgery to try and get pregnant on my own. I've always known that one day I wanted to experience pregnancy and child birth, unfortunantly for those who've never been down that road and just take it for granted, you have no idea how hard it is on those with fertility problems.

What's with the women on this forum and spitting out babies? It's like they're trying to ensure the stability of Social Security all by themselves!
