and we could be your neighbors if you moved to NC, Thumb! Smiley: grin

Smiley: laugh That would be awesome, but I think the husband would be like "Yeah, we are so moving to NC just because your internet buddies thought it was a good idea!"

San Diego is where I was born and raised and the idea of being away from the billion relatives that I have just wrenches my heart. I was severely depressed when we moved only 6 hours away and my hubby really suffered from that. Smiley: tongue

Yay, Tare!

That beautiful back yard is making me green with envy.

DSD, the entire housing market is slow right now (scarily slow for those of us in the business), so take heart and be patient. It'll just take time. The up-side is that you'll probably get a really good price on the house you end up buying!

If they haven't offered yet, make it a condition of the purchase agreement for the seller to provide a home warranty. It's pretty standard these days.

Tare, I'm going on record that I want to throw something at you. Since I saw this thread title I've had Bob Marley stuck in my head for six hours so far.

To the rescue, here I am
Want you to know, yall, can you, can you, can you understand?

But to the rescue, here I am
Want you to know just if you can, here I stand, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

Can you understand me now, baby?
Do you believe me?

Grats on the house though Tare. I just bought my first a little while back so I know what it's like to find the one house you really want.

They did offer a warranty, so that's great. We are having home, hvac, radon, septic and termite inspections. I hope we got it all covered.

Just bought a house!

Wootles!

Amazingly enough, we finally found the house we were looking for in Raleigh. It has a gorgeous half acre back yard, 70 ft of deck and patio, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, set back 50 ft from the road...I am so excited! It needs some work though so there go my weekends until the baby is born. Smiley: wink

Traitor.

congrats

Believe me, I'd love to be going home, but I don't have half a mill to buy a house there now that the housing market has gone so crazy (damn oilsands). I'm trying embrace the heat and bugs and Carolina Hurricanes. My own home here will certainly help.

Congratulations, Tare. Let me tell you right now that home remodeling is the task without end. Joph and I just redid the living room (he insists on calling it the 'front room') and Joph Jr.'s quarters, and it was both time-consuming and pricey.

Add to that, the week or two of painting every day aggravated my cold and I lost my voice, on my second day home from work right now, and just noticed now that everything's nice and painted, that the trim needs to be re-done and I need new curtains. Maybe I'll stop off at the fabric store, too.

I hear you, Flea. I have worked on a few properties in my time. That's why I know we have to get as much done as we can before February. Smiley: frown

We won't likely move in until October and the house is vacant now so that gives us a solid month to work in there while we still live here. That should help a lot.
