Just bought a house!

Wootles!

Amazingly enough, we finally found the house we were looking for in Raleigh. It has a gorgeous half acre back yard, 70 ft of deck and patio, 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, set back 50 ft from the road...I am so excited! It needs some work though so there go my weekends until the baby is born. Smiley: wink

Ladies, take good note of the gumption this nice Canadian woman has. Planning to be doing contracting work right up until she pops! This is the kind of she-slave every man needs to bag!

Boo-yah!

The work is more of the "modernizing" kind. Gramma's wallpaper ain't gonna fly with me.

It's so close being Cary, it's not even funny. It just happens to technically Raleigh - south west.

Now, get down here so we can hang out on my giant patio! Smiley: grin

working on it. We've got a third showing tomorrow afternoon so Im keeping my fingers crossed. Looks like these guys want to extend our house and are bringing a contracter over to look at specs. Only issue is if they make an offer they may have to sell their house first. And as I know so well, the market SUCKS here right now.

I refuse to stay hopeful until I have a P&S in front of me, waiting to be signed in blood

Damn Tare thats purty!

on a side note, heres an article about home sales in my area I just heard on the radio

Quote:
Mass. home sales in July take steepest plunge since 1995
Boston Business Journal - 11:50 AM EDT Tuesday

Massachusetts home sales in July were off by 27 percent from last July, the biggest decline for a single month since 1995, the Warren Group of Boston reported Tuesday.

The median sale price in July for a single-family home was down 6 percent, and the median sale price for a condo dropped 4 percent from the same month last year, according to the Warren Group, which logs all sales recorded at state's registries of deeds.

This data comes on the heels of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors report last Tuesday that single-family home sales in Massachusetts dropped nearly 11 percent in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. Condominium sales dropped nearly 9 percent.

For the first seven months of the year, according to the Warren Group, single-family home sales are down 13.3 percent with prices off by 3.5 percent and condo sales are down 9.5 percent. The median condo sales price, however, was up 1.1 percent.

The median single-family home sale price in July was $339,000, while the median condo sale price was $277,700.

/sigh. One day I too, will join Tare in the sunny state of NC. I hope

That wooded area beyond your fence is just crying out for a deerstand, some camo fatigues and an economy size bottle of Jergins. One question: which of those windows is the master bath?

Seeing that backyard of yours Tare makes me really re-think my position of buying in Southern California. Just knowing how lower prices are in other parts of the country for bigger homes is really persuasive for me to relocate.
