Saw this Friday night with Mrs. Deathwysh.

The entire theatre laughed hysterically. Its absolutely one of the funneist movies I've seen in the last 25 years. Maybe the funniest.

Just go see it.

I read the glowing article that EW wrote on it and it sounds like the movie to go see. (if you're not into snakes anyway)

I've seen a lot of push going on for this movie, but funny is very sunjective so what was it that killed, compare it to at least something else well knowen that was funny like this. Also I heard Snakes Sucked the big one.

People I've known to have seen SOAP said it was fun for what it was and for the audience participation. A theatre I looked at on Friday had a sign in the lobby to the effect that, if you weren't willing to spend 90+ minutes in a room full of hooting monkeys waiting to scream out the signature line, perhaps you'd want to look into a different movie for the evening. If you expected a "good" film, you must have been living under a rock for the past year.

Heard good things about Little Miss Sunshine as well, though.

Yeah, SOAP was entertaining, but that goes along side the fact that it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. But we left with a lot of amusing and memorable quotes that the audience yelled out during the course of the film, heh.

But the guy to my left decided he was going to provide his own narration to the whole damned movie, from start to finish. He provided such intelligent insight as "Oh SNAP! That snakes gon' bite his ***!", and "Oh! ***** got bit by that snake!", etc. etc.

I swear I came very, very close to strangling him right there in the theater.

In regard to Little Miss Sunshine though, I have trouble enjoying those "dark" comedies, and their offbeat humor. It just doesn't make sense to me at all. That applies to pretty much all of those types, like the Royal Tannenbaums, or I <3 Huckabee's and the like.

The last movie I went to see in the theater was mi:3 - which I only saw for Phillip Seymour Hoffman's performance. I've been in movies where "geniuses" next to me have to narrate, but this - this was the weirdest "seat-mate" experience I've ever had.

Anyway, I got there late. I got one of the last seats - which had a "saved" empty seat next to me. As the movie started, an enormous, seven foot tall red-haired woman sat next to me. Well, at least six and a half feet tall.

And her right leg started - not twitching - but shaking. Like a pile driver. The whole flippin bench of seats was like 6.0 on the Richter Scale (okay, I exaggerate - but it was bad).

And ... I couldn't say a thing. She was there with her mother. She was probably in her twenties and had some sort of "issue" - her mom still treated her like a little girl. There were no other seats, and I couldn't ask her to stop - she couldn't stop - because ... well, I could tell by their conversation she had mental issues - and I didn't want to make them feel bad. So I watched the movie and didn't say a thing.

But after the show, I did have to spend a full week putting my body's molecules back into their proper order. And I lie - I've seen Pirates 3 since.

Really? Since Pirates 2 is still in theaters, you shouldn't give away any juicy details!

I thought it tried way too hard to be clever.

I usually like off-beat stuff but I spent most of Huckabees bored silly.

See I love the Royal Tenenbaums...I'm not sure why but I love all of his work...Can't think of the directors name right off. So if this new flick is anything along those lines than I'm on top of it.

Directors name...Wes Anderson

Understood.

This is also probably why I like arguing the meaning of life for 8 pages in a thread and you don't.
