Aug. 16, 2006 — An arrest has been made in connection with JonBenet Ramsey murder case, Ramsey family attorney Hal Haddon told ABC News.

The arrest comes nearly 10 years after the 6-year-old girl was found strangled and beaten to death in the basement of her Boulder, Colo., home on the day after Christmas, in a case that shocked the country and that has remained unsolved.

Linky

Does this mean we have to endure another onslaught of creepy child pageant photos every night on the news?

They frighten me.

I'm sort of disappointed that it wasn't Patsy. Now how am I s'posed to scare my kids to stop wetting the bed?

Didn't the Mrs die recently? I seem to remember hearing that.

Anyway, it would be good to see justice finally be done if they did in fact find the right man. I could do without the press coverage though.

Maybe it is Patsy. She "died" earlier this year, didn't she? Maybe she's really a Thai ladyboy.

Yes, Patsy Ramsey died in June. And I swear it was speculated that if not a family member it was a wandering indigent who killed Jon Benet. Now how does a homeless cat end up in Thailand ten years later? There's a feel-good story in there somewhere.

Erk. I hope they've got the right man, because he's going to be hanged, drawn and quartered in the press.

It'll be interesting to see how they've come to this man after 10 years, especially since the parents were so vilified in the beginning.

Hopefully Nancy Grace will have all the answers I need!

It was reported that the schoolteacher, Mark Carr (I think that's the name), lived in the area at the time of the little girl's death. The family was apprised that he was a suspect sometime in May, about a month before JonBenet's mother passed away from cancer.

I sure would like to know what evidence was used to connect him to the crime after almost 10 years, considering that his name never surfaced before this. I say DNA testing will definitely be a factor.

As dinner, I'd assume.

Not that I put much stock in speech reversals, but sometime in 1997ish I heard some of these on the radio. Real or not, the audio samples on that page are really disturbing.

DISCLAIMER: I originally heard this guy on Sightings with Jeff Rense so keep that in mind.

Well, he is currently under arrest in Thailand on unrelated sex crime charges, and to get arrested for sex crimes in Thailand, one has to be a pretty spectacular *******

Says she died during a botched kidnapping, true or not, what would have been worse for the girl? Dead or in the captive hands of some pederass living a life of god only knows what.

Well he will plea Guilty, that much is for sure, i do not think that there will be HUGE coverage of the case/trial. There will probably still be alot of blurbs but i doubt it will be a nation wide intrest.

I'm glad they solved it. Parents must be relieved to finally have theirnames cleared without any doubt.

A 41-year-old former school teacher suspected of killing JonBenet Ramsey admitted publicly Thursday that he was with the six-year-old girl when she died and that her death was "an accident."

The suspect has apparently confessed to the crime to the Thai police. I wonder if a confession to the Thai police will stand in a US court...?
