Yeah, that's totally wrong. An Excellent is worth 6 no matter who it's from, and an Awful is worth 0.

No matter who rates you (including yourself for the 2 per post rates) it's:

Karma_new = (Rating / num_posts) + (Karma_old * (num_posts-1) / num_posts)

look kids, math!

Our basement is purely devoted to drinking as well. Though we've got all of the alcohol, with none of the panache of a pub. 2 beer pong (we call it beirut) tables, 1 couch. I may put a TV down there at some point if I get around to it.

Oh, and I think we're growing some serious mold down there from stale beer.
