Now on to business!
My wife and I last night were playing cards and the television was on in the other room, when a women's anti-persperant commercial for the well known product called "Secret" came on. Being children of the 80's, we could not help but notice the change in their branding slogan. It had changed!
Back in the 80's, Secret used 2 similar slogans:
Strong enough for a man, made for a woman.
then later in the same decade;
Strong enough for a man, pH balanced for a woman.
last night's commercial:
Strong enough for a woman.
On the right/left scale, my wife and I would be considered center-left. We where left perplexed at how the simplest things have now been bastardized due to the wonderful world of PC language and the picket sign carrying feminists.
We are both all for equality between sexes and mutual respect, but think it's retarded that man-hole covers have to now be called person-hole covers. Does anyone remember what sizes Royale facial tissue came in? Regular and MAN SIZED. Now they are just called extra large facial tissues.
I think that the Feminists/PCists should have a new slogan:
Political Correctness: Not important enough for men, innoffencive enough for women.
Do you have any examples of changes to everyday items or sayings that just make you shake your head?
