Humans naturally have the power to remember almost two bits of information per second, or a few hundred megabytes over a lifetime.

If ou are not familiar with the movie Total Recall, it about a recreational facility that implants memories into your brain... such as extravagant vacations or superhero fantasies...

so it seems we grow closer to this being a reality....

Quote:
he expects that in as few as 15 years it will be common to carry nearly all our "memories" around with us in a single device that will automatically record the sound and video of our daily activities, creating an inventory of the conversations we have, the faces we see and the articles we read. That data would be tied to communications that are already tracked electronically, like e-mail and event calendars, as well as TV shows, movies and other media we take in. The end result: on-demand total recall.

I'll just say this.

Is there no limit to how ******* LAZy human beings have become??? or will become.... wehn the time comes that we start relying on machines to even remember **** for us?

Yes, I am against Writing too.
If we had never learned the accursed act of writing, I believe that we would have developed the abiltiy to remember things better instead of relying on alarm clocks and sticky notes.....

So here it is. On -Demand memories...
So out of curiosity; would you people go to a place to allow your memories to be hacked?

It's all part of the inevitable evolution of our species into cyborgs....

One problem I see with this: Our memories are an amalgam of all 5 sensory processes. I bet even if this technology becomes plausible, it won't be as satisfactory as a "real" memory complete with the recalled features of smell, taste, and touch.

Well I guess that might depend on the memory....

I don't think anyone married would like to have that one fight that just went over the top recorded for posterity.

But I think every married would like to have the one time their spouse was just so in the wrong to be recorded so it could be used as the trump card for future fights. Smiley: lol

One night many years ago, I had an unbelievable evening with a girl named Jen. We ravaged each other like drunken teen-agers on Viagra till the sun came up. Unfortunately, as time passes my memories of that amazing night fade, until only bits and pieces remain. I struggle even to remember what exactly her face looked like, not to mention her bewbs. That is one night I'd like to have "Total Recall" of.

Then again, if I was able to play that back over and over again I might not get anything else done. I'd become a masturabatory mammal, capable only of taking food and sleep when absolutely necessary, and to let the chafing subside. But I'd never need on-line **** again!

Is this the one where you played a video on the tv that was like a battle scene and you had to shoot certain colored lights for points?
