So I went to an in door firing range Saturday with a frend... spend the whole day...
We took turns with his handgun... a Sigsaur229...

and that was cool. I was told that for y first time firing gun, I was a natural, and it was even suggested that it my be my "calling" in lifeSmiley: lol

So then I rented a Thomson Submachine gun. 45.Cal. round.. fully auto..... Smiley: drool2

Even now I can still feel the sensation of those rounds steadily pumping out and I hold the trigger...... a very solid sensation of a simple thok-thok-thok-thok-thok-thok... the feel of that machine pulsating in your grip.... the sparks flying.. the heat of the barrel.... the wafting clouds of gunpowder....
Yeah, I busted a nut.

So I got in trouble too.... my final clip I decided to empty it from the hip rather than aiming down the sights...... I held that machine to my side and let it rip with it's full and unholy force.... I ended up hitting thier target trolly a few times which got me yelled at... I was afraid they were ewither gonna charge me or ban me...... but to my surprise.. when I came out they just laughed at my huge white sunglasses that I was using for goggles...

So yea. I'm througoughly hooked. Just like getting music stuck in your head, I have the feeling of thumping out a clip full of 45.CAl rounds...
It was very much like having sex for the first time.

anyway. Smiley: twocents on my fullfilling and classicly American weekend.

I also sae World Trade Center last night.
It was more of a family movie than anything else... none of Oliver Stones crazy bald Indians dancing in the ruins or anything....

An episode of Mail Call (History Channel) a year or so back was an hour long dedication to a gun nut event in the woods somewhere. Basically it was 2 days of anything and everything guns. From firing ranges to helicopter sniper rides. Basically you bring ANY gun you have and fire it. Some of these people really go all out, fully automatic turret looking tank asploding guns. I highly recommend getting your hands on that show. My Monday morning rendition of the episodes contents really does it no justice.

I'm getting a mental image here of Elton John sporting a machine gun. Disturbing. Like some sort of gangsta ****.

Sounds like it was a lot of fun though. I've never fired a gun myself, but I plan on giving it a try. I can hardly call myself American until I do.

wound't be the same.

The only enticment I see in paintball is the tactical stuff that would be involved with playing it. It still very much lacks the force and smell and everything else of an actually real firearm.

I know, I should just join the Military then, right?

AS much as I've alwasy loved guns.... still a hobby that I'm not willing to shell out the thousands of dollars to pursue..... and I'm not gonna start getting a bunch of cheapo guns as has been suggested to me....

Although, yes, Paintball would be quite fun, but in a whole different way.
Still have never done that either.....

I propose an Asylum paintball match!

Smiley: laugh

Oh, I agree that it would be good times, no doubt. I meant that without the kick, the sparks, and the gunpowder, it wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing to me is the same way.

To me that would be a whole different kind of fun, not-unlike fencing.

Smiley: lol yeah, the guy even gave me matching white ear-mufflers.... I must have looked rather silly..

funy, the little thug-boy who was shotting his 9mm in there stopped shooting as soon as we starting ripping with the fully-auto.

ou got to try it. thisplace was $50 for the Thompson rental which came with 2 cliips and $20 each addictional clip.

they also had:

H&K MP5, UZI Sub Gun, and a Swedish K.. all 9MM... for around the same price.

I've been target shooting as long as I can remember. My family has a lot of cool guns that we take up on Reddington Pass. From the M-1 Garand to the AR-15 theres nothing quite like a huge bullet throw.

Smiley: mad *******, I want one. I just want to find one for less than $1000. M1 Garand will be my first gun purchase if I don't break down and buy a pistol first.

I've always wanted to go to a shooting range just once, to get a feel for it. I watch so many violent movies and video games that I'm now a little curious about what firing a gun is actually like. Pretty unhealthy eh? But just once, because I really couldn't see making a frequent thing out of it.

I still love the conussion felt from my World War II model HK G3.
Nothing like being punched in the chest when your standing about 7 feet behind the damn gun watching someone else shoot. It's the only one of my rifles I have to have earplugs for.

Some states don't even require you to register your weapon let alone decide what kind you can have *cougharizonacough*

I would SO love to pistol whip some dope fiends. Like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas "Your D.A.R.E. officer didn't warn ya about THIS, junkie!"

Yeah, All they took was my liscence and made me fill out a small piece of paper with my address on it and "Here ya go, don't shoot my place up".
Concidering that every person working there is armed, I'm sure that they WISH somebody would start trouble.
