If anything, it should make you feel secure and confident... They don't do that to every random roastbeef that comes to our shores.

Back in the bosom of my noble shores.

I now need to detox from all the Belgian Chocolate and Beer and fine Frrrrrrench cuisine.

Bruks Bertje turned out not to be particularly child-friendly, but we were nicely accommodated by other nice restaurants and family oriented bars.

In France I discovered a new friend (a local Rouen brew called 'Affligem') and re-acquainted myself with Cafe Paul in the Place du Cathedral.

We paid our respects to his former Majesty Richard Couer de Lion - even if he didn't speak English and only visited twice (to raise more taxes for he crrrrazy frrrrench crrrusades) he was played by Sean Connery in that crappy Robin Hood Prince of Tea-leaves movie, so he's OK.

It did **** down in Brugge, but it didn't marr the trip at all.

And Belgium & France's increased forays into the 21st century meant that all the hotels we staid in had WiFi so Noblet got his daily fix of Guildwars. yay.

Yeah. Awesome stuff (and SNIPER were singled out by Sarkozy as exemplifying all that';s wrong with popular culture. YAY!)

Also got calogero's live DVD. His duet with Passi on 'Face a la Mer' kicks *****

Hehe, he should be flattered. For once he's the subject of popular culture...

That's partly what I like with french hip-hop. It's very politicised. The good ones almost always refer to politicians directly, to moments in France's history. They don't just rap about biatches and cadillacs and how much weed they smoke. Or, in our case, salopes and 2CV and Beaujolais Nouveau.

And their lyrics are quite clever. They're obviously not that stupid not that uneducated. Strange that they ahve such a problem fitting in. Then again, maybe the clever ones become hip-hop dudes, and the others drug-dealers. I don't know.

For once, I think France should look to England for tips on how to integrate their minorities a bit better. Not that England's doing an amazing job, but France is doing a positively ****** one, so it could only help.

Doesn't matter how much you butt-kiss us, Froggy.

One day we will send you back.

All 350,000 of us? Across the French Channel?

I think the most likely outcome is that you Brits will finally succumb to the sirens of the EU, join the currency, and be drowned amongst a sea of EU migrants.

The French and Germans will have finally succeeded in their dreams of a United States of Europe lead, of course, by us. And Britain will be but a mere province in the great Franco-Germanic alliance, your sovereignty limited to deciding who plays for the national football team, and who to send to the Eurovision song contest.

At least that's what I read in the Daily Mail.

That day is almost upon us, glory days!
