Well, tomorrow I go in for a job interview. What for? Dell is opening a new store in a nearby mall and found me on Monster.com to be a salesman/technician liason. Hopefully they do actually drug test me tomorrow coz I haven't smoked in days and been drinking 2-liters of water non-stop.

Wish me luck!

Well, just remember, if you don't get the job its probably because you are uncharismatic, unattractive and come off as kinda creepy.

That's why I kept telling them I should be a tech, not a salesman. Smiley: frown

I actually like Dell, at least as far as my own personal experience. The laptop I'm on right now - the Inspiron 2650 - I bought early in 2002, refurbished. It came with XP installed and I haven't had to format or reinstall anything. Constant daily use (especially these days as my only computer) including games like Everquest and America's Army. I even upgraded it a few months ago with no problems. So, a pretty quality product.

If you get the job, you can say "Dude, you're getting a Dell" after every sale just like this guy.

Good Luck!

I've heard niacin, goldenseal and cranberry extract are all great. Before I reported for work release jail, I stopped smoking maybe 10 days before I reported and took the extract and niacin the week up til. Now the only problem is you won't know if it was your metabolism or the pills doing the work.

You could always buy one of those 20 something dollar drinks, but that's a huge waste of money if they don't test you. Just make sure you drink plenty of water tonight, and take some vitamin b (to make your urine more yellow/golden) and you should be good.

There is mandatory drug testinfg for all Dell employees, though I'm inclined to believe it would be scheduled after today's interviews. And I have been doing a lot of studying for this test; niacin itself isn't necessary to clear up, but you need plenty of vitamins (including niacin which is B6 I believe) to keep your urine the right color and density, instead of almost perfectly clear water. Right now I'm drinking the 2-liter with a new powdered sports drink with lots of vitamins, as well as taking my normal multivitamin.

You could shave your head too. Just in case they take a hair sample.

The again, they might not want a neo-**** look alike as a salesman.

Working retail sucks. I did it out of necessity for a while, but I couldn't possible go back. Good luck, and I hope you find it more enjoyable than I did.

Well, when I went in for the sales interview, the interviewers there quickly realized that I'm no salesman. So they sent me to interview for Customer Service Rep, which is half Tech, and he said that I was pretty much perfect for the job. The only reason I can't go straight for Tech is that they promote those within the company, which I could work for in a few short years.

I'll be getting a call within the next two weeks. Training involves 2 weeks at Dell school in Austin, Texas (paid travel, lodging, per diem and paycheck) sometime next month and the store opens in October.

So far so good - looks promising!

Eat a couple of pounds of asparagus before your urine test! That'll make em think twice!

Oh, and good luck! Austin is a cool town. Good music scene. San Antonio is just down I-35, and it's worth a visit. The Riverwalk is worth a look.

I personally don't like any name brand PC's. Every one of them I have seen generally use non-interchangable parts, and they force you to install crap like AOL, AOL IM, etc etc.

That being said Id probably buy a Dell over the other names though if I had to recommend a name brand PC. I have found HP are pretty terrible.
