Hell if they want you back, tell them you want a pay raise AND a garunteed contract. That does suck though. Didn't even give you 2 weeks. Did you get any severance pay?
I smell a wrongful dismissal suit.

Isn't there a law about having to hand the person their paycheck when they kick you out the door? Or is that just in TV land?

Don't go back if he asks you Exo. Your future employers will admire you for it.

After being able to sleep on it, I don't think there's an offer in the world he could give me that would bring me back. If there's one thing I like, it's job security, and apparently, it's something I thought I had for 3 years but didn't.

Pay wise, I was fired/laidoff (whatever, Lord knows what he'll mark down) yesterday, but he felt generous enough to pay me till today. (Which is BS on his end; I already had finished payroll BEFORE he decided to let me go.)

I'm seriously dreading to go and file Unemployment. The idea of going to nowhereville and wait 4 hours to even be attended is psychotic, when I could be spending that time looking for a new job/interviews/allah updates (I had to sneak that one in. Smiley: laugh) I could be traumatized by my mom, though, as most of my childhood memories consist of going to that dang place in hopes she'd get food stamps. I think it's a "I'm better than her, dang it!" thing.

On the plus side, though, since I was already poking at other jobs before hand just to see what options I have (most being through the knowing an employee there hookup line), I might actually have another office position lined up. Friend of mine just told me (around the time I started posting this) that their current office person might get fired. Pays the same rate as my old job, but more hours. Which is great. She already has my resume.

I'll keep you all posted. Smiley: yippee Thanks for hearing my whining.

Oh, and the ex-bosses daughter is married and has a kid; not my cup of tea. Smiley: tongue

You've been paying into unemployment for (at least) the last three years, there's no shame in tapping into it now to help support yourself as you seek new employment. That's its intended purpose.

And who knows? Maybe you'll find some hot, hard working chica who's in the same boat as you (fired for no good reason) and you could hook up.

In other words, dooooo it! (and her too)

That is totally true. Also remember that after the initial sign up, depending on your state, you should never have to set foot in that office again. Just have to fill out the voucher online.

Job Security is dead.
