I'm sick of people crying about karma and then saying they don't really care.

Write a post explaining why a high karma score is important to you and how it impacts your postings and overall quality of life. Be specific. Mention how it hurts if you're rated down and how a lower karma score affects your self-esteem.

Best post by the end of the weekend (selected by me) will receive one hundred rate-ups from me dependant upon whether or not I can find a hundred posts of yours without too much work. Unless they all suck. So make it good.

I will! We can even have an admin confirm it if they feel like doing so. I'm not about to start making demands on their time they're not willing to give.

Karma is Good

Karma is good. It is important to me and lots of people and it affects my quality of life goodly. A low karma score hurts my self-esteem when I am rated down. In this post I will talk about how karma is good.

Karma was started in the '90's by Illia. They were started as a way to help posters show other posters how good a thread was. If it was good, it got a good score, if it was bad, it got an ungood score. Some people got very mad by ungood scores because they thought people were being mean and rating for no good reason. So then they would get mad and rate people down and then tattle to the admins.

If you have a ungood karma score, your name is not colored. It could even be so ungood that you can't rate at all! When you have a good score, people think that you are smart and your posts are good. If someone rates you down, then you're posts could not be seen, like proof. Then you need to yell and say mean things in order to show people that they are wrong and you have good posts.

One time, someone rated me down and it made me sad. I mean, I was like, "How could my post be so ungood?". I didn't post for awhile cause I was so mad! But then I realized that it was just people saying that I should try harder to make gooder posts.

You can see from my paragraphs above why karma is important. It means that you could feel good about yourself and other people will think that you are good and you do good posts. So the next time you go to rate someone, ask yourself..."Is this post good?"

Very nice, Neph. Not one mention of the numbers about which you used to be so obsessive.

I guess if I didn't have premium, making it easy to identify my own posts by my avatar...I would dislike not having a red name. So, karma is important because I am super lazy and easily distracted.

Oh, and I kinda want to rate Neph up, but his current score is "good" and that just seems so appropriate. Dilemma.

I would prefer green as a title color, and my karma score to be some significant number. That is all.

A high karma score is important to me, because I'm bored of the FFXI forums and want to start posting here, and I need lots of buffer against the inevitable ratedowns. If I keep posting over there, I think I might actually forget the rules of grammar and spelling, and then my posts will be as bad as the crap they subject me to. :(

So I forgot I could rate "good". Congratulations, you are the first person I have ever done that for. I think out of the 50 or so times in the past five years that I've bothered to rate someone it has never been anything other than Excellent or Awful.

Have you read the crap that kids spew now adays? You're (and notice the proper use of you're... amazing, isn't it?) lucky to see 9th grade grammer from a university grad now adays.

The crappy thing about karma is that there's a bug. When you hit 24420 posts, your karma wraps around to zero.

Why I Think Jopheal Should Rate Me Up 100 Times.

  • Because I will find him a list of 100 of my posts for his easy rating pleasure.

  • Because even if he rated me up 100 times it probally wouldnt move my karma overly much.

  • Because I agree that his son is an adorable angelic child.

  • Because I like my name in Blue.

  • Because I'm better than Neph.

  • Last but not least!

  • Because I'm Al'Katie!

Back in the old UBB days, when I was often the lone voice crying from the wilderness I was glad karma did not exist. You see, stomping on people's nuts was not fashionable back then and was only applauded by the few people on the forum that actually had a brain.

I would have seriously been subdefault.
