That's what the biopsy is to check for. Doc asked a lot of questions about family history too, but made no assumptive suggestions. Merely at the testing phase at this point. We are trying a treatment route to solve the fissue/fistula issue, then depending on the results is when the surgery starts. If it heals, then the surgery will be less evasive. If it doesn't they want to do a sphincterotomy along with some other procedures while they're diggin' for gold.

Poor thing. Make sure to get lots of petting. Not only are these procedures horrid, but the prep for them is unholy as well and it all carries a certain stigma that you shouldn't let yourself feel. Seriously, I feel for ya. I've been through the sigmoidoscopy deal...nothing like having a camera up your butt, extended 3 feet into your intestines, while they cut pieces of the inside of the intestine for biopsy. Not an experience I would wish on anyone. Thankfully there was no cancer in my case. Hope the same is true for you. Good luck.
