Study: Sexy music triggers teen sex

CNN.com wrote:
Whether it's hip-hop, rap, pop or rock, much of popular music aimed at teens contains sexual overtones. Its influence on their behavior appears to depend on how the sex is portrayed, researchers found.

Songs depicting men as "sex-driven studs," women as sex objects and with explicit references to sex acts are more likely to trigger early sexual behavior than those where sexual references are more veiled and relationships appear more committed, the study found.

...that those who "study" are such freakin' morons?

There's no song with sexual innuendo's that I remember from when I was growing up that increased the likely chance that a teen would have sex. Hell...teen's just want to get laid. It's a fact! I can certainly attest that drinking as a teen led to way more sexual activity than some chick gettin' all hot & bothered listening to some R&B "Sexah" classic back in the day. I honestly can't remember ever listening to the type of music that made girls more apt to hop in bed...maybe Death/Thrash Metal doesn't do it for 'em? Hmmm... Smiley: dubious

and why is it just limited to teens?

As a teen I recall having R. Kelly's Bump and Grind in the background to several sexy interludes. Also there was the other song, where he croons the epic lyric : "You remind me of my jeep, I want to ride it". Ooh, then there was LL Cool J and Doin' It Well.

I mostly fUcked sluts, though.

I just honestly do not understand the correlation between song lyrics and the activity of teens having sex. Just like I'll never understand the concept where people study whether or not a teen will kill themselves because subliminal messages on some metal album tells them to in the voice of Lucifer. I really think these findings are just absolutely irrelevant, and really question what they're looking for in the first place.

From a guys perspective, maybe we're just different. The mere hint of the possibility that sex is an option is enough to spark the libido into hyper-drive.

We're all sensitive people
With so much love to give, understand me sugar
Since we got to be
Lets say, I love you

There's nothin wrong with me
Lovin you
And givin yourself to me can never be wrong
If the love is true

Don't you know how sweet and wonderful, life can be
I'm askin you baby, to get it on with me
I aint gonna worry, I aint gonna push
So come on, come on, come on, come on baby
Stop beatin round the bush....

Let's get it on
Let's get it on
Let's get it on
Let's get it on

I love myself
I want you to love me
When I'm feelin' down
I want you above me
I search myself
I want you to find me
I forget myself
I want you to remind me

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you
I touch myself
I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

You're the one who makes me happy honey
You're the sun who makes me shine
When you're around I'm always laughing
I want to make you mine

I close my eyes
And see you before me
Think I would die
If you were to ignore me
A fool could see
Just how much I adore you
I get down on my knees
I'd do anything for you

I love myself
I want you to love me
When I'm feelin' down
I want you above me
I search myself
I want you to find me
I forget myself
I want you to remind me

I want you
I don't want anybody else
And when I think about you
I touch myself
Ooh, oooh, oooooh, aaaaaah

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired
The Valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth

And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say "come dance with me"
And murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems at seventeen

A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
Said: "Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve"
The rich-relationed hometown queen
Marries into what she needs
With a guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly

So remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
In debitures of quality and dubious integrity
Their small-town eyes will gape at you
In dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received at seventeen

To those of us who knew the pain
Of Valentines that never came
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
When dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me

We all play the game, and when we dare
We cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say: "Come on, dance with me"
And murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me, at seventeen...

Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
gonna grab some afternoon delight.
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right.
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night.
When everything's a little clearer in the light of day.
And you know the night is always gonna be there any way.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
looking forward to a little afternoon delight.
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite
But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling
a little afternoon delight.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

Please be waiting for me baby when I come around.
We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down.

Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.

One song I have always equated with some good love making is Timmy T's "One More Try." One of the sappiest songs ever recorded, but some of my sweetest memories are associated with it.

Me! Can't stand NIN. Done the deed to Kansas' "Carry On my Wayward Son" though. That's like my theme song.

Hey! I do too dance, you've seen me!

What does dancing have to do with NiN anyways?

Isn't it remotely possible that the teens that are most inclined to listen to racy music are the ones with sex on the brain already?

"Closer" is The one song, that I always have to dance to. I don't know anyone who likes NIN and can sit still to the song.

"Afternoon Delight" came out right before my senior year and I remember lying in bed reading the DnD rule books, with my then boyfriend, as it played.

"Tubular Bells" is the one album, I got seduced too. I had gone over to check out the sides of my portfolio for college, that a friend had done. Both my ex and Jonwin have used it to get me into the mood.

Dr. Hook singing "Get My Rocks Off." Sex is gonna happen, I guar-flippin'-tee it. There's a little something-something in there for everybody.

Some men need some killer weed, some men need cocaine
Some men need some cactus juice, to purify the brain
Some men need two women, some need alcohol
Everybody needs a little something, but Lord I need it all

To get my rocks off, get my rocks off
Get my rocks off the mountain, and roll 'em on down the hill

I may do you one time, and I may do you more
I may turn you into something, that you ain't ready for
I might want your body, and I might want your bread
I might want your momma to come visit me instead

And get my rocks off, get my rocks off
Get my rocks off the mountain, and roll 'em on down the hill

Sometimes I dream of chicks, to bring me ever lasting joys
Sometimes I dream of animals, sometimes I dream of boys
Sometimes I kill the living, sometimes I raise the dead
Sometimes I say just ***** it all, and crawl back into bed

And get my rocks off, get my rocks off
Get my rocks off the mountain, and roll 'em on down the hill
