It's not a question of "pride", or of "not understanding".
I think the people in Lebanon "understand" the situation a tad batter than you do, shadowrealm.
Have you even read the proposed resolution? Do you have the tools to understand how, for example, using the word "cessation" is completely different to using the word "suspension" in those resolution?
I humbly suggest you do a bit of reading on international law, international relations, foreign cultures, islam, and the history of the middle-east.
For a start.
It might sound harsh, but I don't post about how stupid nuclear engineers are. I just don't have the tools to make that judgment.
In this situation, however, it's pretty simple: The resolution did not call for an immediate withdrawal of Israeli troops. Which is why Lebanon refused it, and why it will, probabl, fall through in the end. All it would take is for one of the 15 in the security council to vote against, and it wont be "unanimous". Considering Quatar are there, it seems likely that they'll vote against/abstain, in support of Lebanon.
Which might suck for Lebanon in the short-term, but which is probably better for them in the medium-term.
