You can help save the endangered Pacific Tree Octopus!

Kao, I just have to say how much I love the Octopus site. What a brilliant parody of how far people here in the PNW go in their determination to conserve anything and everything--I wonder how many people have actually written letters to their representatives thanks to that site.

My husband and I always watch the annual dry season with equal parts annoyance and amusement as the salmon-heads lock horns with the farmers of the Klamath Basin over the water supply.

You know, I think you are the first person ever to click on that link in my sig hehe. I think my favorite part has to be the tree octipus hat picture.

I conserve salmon. In my belly!

I clicked it ages ago fool!

DF, I used to wear Victoria's Secret Lovespell ages ago. It does smell delicious. Now I keep it in my car and wear it sometimes if I'll be indoors, because out of doors it's like a neon sign for mosquitoes.

Favorite smells?
-Chanel No. 5 impregnated on clothes reminds me of my mother
-Old Spice does the same for my father
-Joph's skin right after a shower
-the first bit of moist smog coming out of Jorge Chavez Airport into downtown Lima
-Wet pavement
-The bite of wild chives in freshly cut grass
-Aguardiente and lime
-Agua de Azhar, Orange Blossom water
-The cold smell or winter coming, the first chimeney fire in the air
-Roasting garlic and cumin-reminds me of my grandmother
-Alfalfa, for the same reason
-any silly lotion with raspberry, coconut, or mango. I'm a sucker for those.

Freshly ground coffee (forgive me if that sentence is grammatically incorrect).

It's funny though because I don't drink coffee. I still think it (being the drink) has a very powerful and warm smell, and the powder is even more concentrated. It's hypnotizing almost.

Same with dried tea leaves. Although I do drink tea once in a while.

Oh and fresh bread from the oven. I work at a supermarket and I once had to sell bread (we bake our own bread). My hardest time at work, ever. It's such a lovely smell.

Oh and black currant. But it has to be the concentrated essence, not the berries themselves. So any product that tastes or smells of black currant (in the European version of Skittles, black currant replaces grape as the purple color).

I have to interject here. I can say with 100% accuracy that Nobby does not exude odoriferous emanations. And, is actually quite pleasant smelling for an old man. Smiley: wink2

My Many Smells

Sometimes I smell like a barrel of rotting fruit
Stinking up the jungle under the hot tropical sun
Other times I smell like think black swamp water
That's backed up into your toilet on a warm summer day

These are a few of my many smells
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?

Sometimes I smell just like the bathroom
After Grandma's used it and she's been eating prunes.
Other times I smell like a city garbage strike
When all the horseflies grow to three inches long

These are a few of my many smells
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?

Sometimes I smell just like death itself
A sickening sweet smell, I could really make you ill.

Smell me (x5)
See me
Hear me
Touch me
Smell me (x4)

Favorite smells:

Freshly brewed coffee
Any dinner my wife cooks
Honeysuckle
...can't think of much else at the moment, the usual allergies pretty much nullify my sense of smell...

Helicopter exhaust, ie. the smell of JP-4 burning.
Freshly washed poodles.
Cotton candy being spun.
Popcorn popping in the microwave.
Puppy breath (the dogs gotta be 8 weeks old or younger to really get the proper smell)
And last but not least, the smell of Farah, a Middle Eastern perfume on my wife. The scent is derived from a rare wildflower which only blooms in the Saudi Arabian desert for approximately 3-4 days in the spring, during which the blossoms are collected and crushed into a very beautiful smelling oil.
