And Lo, it was decreed that head-butting whilst carrying a maximum game ban of 3 matches, will be lesser than the offence of calling one's mother a dirty Albanian terrorist which will now be 5. No less than 5, no more than 5. Not 4 unless on the way to five. Three is right out. Should the remark come from the fans, one bad apple spoils the bunch and they will all be thrown out of the stadium!

It has also been decreed that he who diveth shall be penalized 2 matches (or 1 lighter).

"These are mine commandments, which are to be set forth post haste!" declared the /butthurt soccer association.

That'll teach those dirty, cheating Italians!

NYON, Switzerland - Players making racist remarks or gestures could be banned for up to five matches, according to new UEFA disciplinary regulations announced Monday.

Anyone who insults the human dignity of a person or group of persons, by whatever means, including on grounds of color, race, religion or ethnic origin will now face a maximum five-game ban.

In addition, any club whose supporters engage in racist or discriminatory conduct will receive a minimum fine of $24,250.

UEFA also said it can impose additional sanctions, such as forcing teams to play in an empty stadium, closing grounds, awarding matches by default, deducting points and disqualification from competitions.

European soccer's governing body said that any form of extremist ideological propaganda is banned.

The regulations also state that players who simulate fouls or injuries to dupe the referee into making an incorrect decision will face a maximum two-match suspension.

If a team has five players or more shown yellow cards in the same match, then it can be punished under new "improper conduct of a team" regulations.

The rules also stress that referees' on-field decisions are still final. Only the subsequent consequences of a decision made by the referee may be reviewed in cases involving an obvious error, such as mistaken identity.

UEFA added that the statutes of limitation regarding doping offenses have been brought into line with requirements laid down by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Prosecution is now barred at the end of eight years for doping offenses.

I don't believe we're scheduled to discuss the soccer for just shy of four years still. Thanks.

That's good to hear. From what I saw of the games, a play like this happened every 30 seconds. And they affected results dramatically throughout the World Cup, too.

I wish they'd set something like this up for basketball, too. I hate hearing the announcers praise a player for his good "acting ability" when he flops. I bet it'll be tough to enforce, though.

FUck Off.

The racism in European Football was appalling until the clubs were forced to take serious action as a result of this rule.

I stopped taking my kids to matches because of the vile racist chants and abuse. Now fans know that if they start that crap, they'll be hauled out of the ground and banned.

It works.

Understand that, fUckwit??

Wear the opposition team's strip and you're likely to have your face removed by the opposition fans and your own.

What a **** you are.

Post more. fresh meat ftw!

I doubt that FIFA will entertain putting this through, hell the Argentinian team wouldn't be able to play if it did!

In theory, this looks great.

Diving and waving imaginary yellow-cards is a cancer on teh game, and I'm glad they're trying to do something about it. Retroactive bans for players that dive and feign injury was the only way to do it, so good on them if they implement it.

As for the racist chanting, that's pretty cool too, but the fines must be bigger. $24,000 for a big club is absolutely nothing. For fines to mean something, they must hurt, otherwise it's just lip-service. But still, it's a step forward I guess.

I hope they apply it. Especially the one about diving and feigning injury. We don't need all those rolling-on-the-floor pussies, we need real tough, hard men, that heabutts ************* who talk disrepsectfully about their mums/sisters/cat.

It's good to see players being bammed for games if they dive. It's ridiculous what you see when you watch soccer now.

Hey, guess what? If you weren't such a ***** and got back up right away maybe the team wouldn't have gained control of the ball while you were rolling around on the ground because someone bumped you.

Soccer is a non-contact sport but that doesn't mean there isn't contact. When was the last time you saw a team play that wasn't all sporting shin pads? I've had to turn off games in the past because one (or both) teams were taking a lot of dives. It's always amusing to see how they roll around in agony. Until the stretcher comes out. Then they stretch that leg/whatever for a few seconds and they're fine. Pussies.

Being a former soccer player myself, you can hit and bump hard enough to cause that kind of pain. I know myself when i would get angry at someoen i would try and kick his ankles out when the ref wasnt looking. Having been "cleeted" a few times myself, it hurts like a ***** and soccer players are fast enough to get away with junk like that. However there really is no need for the constant rolling and crying. If your ankle swells up or you are bleeding then you are justified, if you just get a "love tap" the gtfu and stfu!

People may say soccer players are gay but they just dont have what it takes to run for 90 minutes streight and have the skill to compete. Slow passing games are boring(and about teasing the other team) where as fast paced is where its at. I want to see a team going for 5 goals in a game rather than playing it safe and winning with a last minute goal.
