The whole "stem cell veto thingy":

Now, it is in Bush's right to veto the bill for "moral" reasons. My question is how could he say that human life is being lost?

Quote:
The sources for stem cells include: one week old embryos (blastocysts) created via in vitro fertilization (IVF) to treat infertility; five to nine week old embryos or fetuses obtained through elective abortion; embryos created through IVF for research purposes; embryos created through cloning or somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT); and adult tissues (umbilical cord blood, bone marrow)

From this site

I was not able to find the legal point at which an embryo/fetus is considered a human, but I am willing to assume that it is some point after the 5-9 week gestation period in which the stem cells are collected from abortions.

The thing I need explained to me is how exactly is human life being lost if the law does not view the embryos as humans yet?

Are we now running under the churches definition, in which it is considered a human at the moment of conception?

What do you want from me? I have been kept busy spearheading the Jophoplie political interest group. Protecting you from the Albanian circus midgets and the International union of Coblers may cause me from missing a thread or two.

Okay Psi, based on your av, before we go any further...

...we must spend several days if not weeks debating the size and shape of the negotiations table....

Add plexiglass cages and catwalks for bellydancers, and I'll consider your proposal!
