yep. thats the big risk.
while Syeria and Jordan are both disavowing the actions of Hezbola, Israel needs to move as fast as possible. neither country will ever openly support Israel, but as long as they are not openly condeming their actions, they have a window of opportunity to end this quickly without it escalating into an all out reagonal war.
we NEVER should have supported Lebonons bid for democracy to rid itself of Syerian controll. this is a direct result of Syerias withdraw from lebonon.
there are some places in the world where democracy will not work. something we are starting to learn in Iraq.
if they move in quickly, and get out quickly and dont make any overtures about occupying lebonon, Israel can win this decisivly without it turning into something much much larger.

shadowrelm, I hope your country gets invaded, your people get oppressed for more than 27 years, your friends get taken to mysterious jails and forgotten there for daring to say something against the invading country, members of your family get murdered/kidnapped/tortured/humiliated, your economy gets hit in the only strong point it has, and you personally to live in poverty knowing that you can't escape that fate unless you turn traitor or emigrate.
Maybe then, you'll have the right to decide for me and my countrymen whether we have the right to "bid for democracy".
