Home sick today. Woke up in the middle of the night with this Bob-awful pressure in my head. My head throbs when I sit up. My nose/sinuses aches when I lay down. Took Dayquil a few hours ago and then Tylenol Cold and Flu and nothing's working. Any suggestions?

sounds like a sinus cold. Get yourself some medicine specifically for that. Also drink lots of fluids, preferably tea. Other than that, ask your kids to leave mom alone a bit today cause you feel sick and try to relax. Feel better sweetie!

Best thing I have ever found for colds or anything of the like is Actifed: Cold and Alergy. Little white pills, easy to swallow and almost always do the job.

Play lots of video games and take severe sinus medicine.

Tylenol Sinus ROCKS. The CVS knockoff is also not bad. I agree with DSD. Nothing will kill a sinus headache other than sinus meds. Press that hollow right abouve your cheekbones with the heels of your hands. That drains them somewhat and relieves the pressure for a bit. Also, drink TONS of fluids.

In other news, I almost wish I was sick. Just taking the requisite day off recommended by the Dr., but other than aches and soreness, I feel well. So far I've done two loads of laundry, cleaned the stove and kitchen, taken care of some pending phonecalls and budgeting matters, and now I'm getting ready to strip the bed, vacuum and grocery shop.

Oooh, maybe I'll plant that tomato plant so it doesn't die!

I'm so antsy, I don't know what to do with myself. I almost WISH I were at work.

I had pizza yesterday. It was delicious. I've decided to become a pizza-snob and refer to it as "fresh mutzarell".

Cue for an old joke:

Employee: I can't come into work today. I'm sick.
Boss: How sick?
Employee: Well I'm in bed with my 7 year old niece and her best friend

Thank you

That sounds like a worthwhile day off.

Ah! I had that two weeks ago. It started off with a sore throat a few days prior and then woke up with excrutiating pain in my sinuses. It lasted about 2 weeks before I was fully over it. I ended up with my sinuses sooo clogged I couldnt hear out of my left ear for about a week. Nothing helped. Go to the doctor and get some medicine because that cold that is going around is HORRIBLE.
