It may seem a sandboxish subject, but I'm honestly curious. If you drink coffee, what kind...both on average and what is your very favorite?

For example, I have a big ol' can of maxwell house, traditional blend. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done. If I want something good, my choice is Kenya AA or some Antigua if that's not available. I also enjoy tea on occasion, and my current favorite to drink black is the Stash Double-Bergamot Earl Grey...even though Earl Grey isn't generally my favorite. I also like Chai.

Anyway, I'm sleepy and curious...

I usually wake up to a bag of whole bean coffee, generally from a nearby coffeeshop like starbucks, or when I can splurge, some organic beans from the local coffeeshop down the road from me.

I prefer grinding my own coffee every morning, the whole bean stays fresh longer, and there's nothing better than waking up every morning and pulverizing something.

Double-shot espresso - Arabica.

During the day at home I may drink a long coffee (semi-skimmed milk). At work it's straight black espresso.

I really like freshly ground coffee as well...however I have this baby, and the screaming while I make the coffee would kill a little of the joy. Someday though!

I want some Pee Wee Hermanesque breakfast machine that grinds my coffee and makes it along with some toast and an egg and then delivers it via conveyor belt to me. Is that so much to ask?

I used to drink arabica a lot when I worked at a coffee shop, three shots into a cup of hot chocolate to start the evening out right. Ahh, my youth.

Oh you are so going to pay for this.

Only coffee I have in my house right now is a 3 pound bag of starbucks columbian blend. When I'm at work it's whatever rot they have inside the coffee machine(they "claim" it's arabica bean, riiiiight)

Oh you will pay for this.

If you were a true coffee drinker, you would have multiple back-ups in case of emergency. If my coffee maker breaks, I have another, if my power goes out, I have a french press and one of those little things that sits on top of the mug and you put a filter in it and poor hot water from a kettle over the grounds. Technical term, I know, but you see what I'm saying!

I think I've bought something from starbucks like three times ever...they're silly expensive and not good enough to make up the difference. Also, I hate what they call ****...it's a medium people, get over yourselves.

Hi all, I really do the coffee thing myself. In fact I have gone to the extent of buying the beans green and home roasting them. I personally like a city/ city+ roast. quiet dark but not quiet to the espresso degree. I too enjoy AA Kenya and also some from the Costa Rica area. But as of late I have been buying whole bean coffee from of all places BJ's Wholesale Club. They have a decent French Roast. Not bad for the price. Anyhow, I must go and make some now? as I haven't had that first cup yet this morning.

I'm generally not a very big fan of Starbucks stuff but the Columbian blend is surprisingly decent. There's a local coffee shop I have been going to for years where I usually buy from. I only have 2 different coffee makers at home. If I would have known the pos here at work was broken I would be much less hostile. Damn you people who have coffee when I don't.

I prefer the South American coffees, which my husband finds a bore. He prefers those very muddy African flavours.

A gigantic latte' with 4 shots of espresso is my favourite way to start the day. Man I miss our espresso machine.

My morning fix comes from a big ol' can of Folgers Gourmet Supreme, their darkest roast. I drink it straight black and brewed strong. While I was in Italy I enjoyed drinking an espresso in the morning. Good stuff. But now it's back to the sludge.

I generally don't drink coffee. Maybe one cup a week and it's whatever is in the pot. If I drink more than 2 cups a week I feel like I'm approaching DSD's habit Smiley: laugh. Don't ask me about Arabian, Columbia, Hawaiian variations or anything, I don't know. All I know is I like it with plenty of Estiva and French Vanilla-flavored cream. I actually still have a $20 Starbucks gift card that I got more than a year ago and I still have yet to use it up.

But I guzzle down at least 24 ounces of ice cold water in the morning, then have a protein shake or a light breakfast.

Yeah, that'll get you like...3 cups of coffee.

I'm trying to cut back on caffeine as hubby and I are working on getting Ambrya 2.0 into production and you're not supposed to have a lot caffeine while preggers, so once a week or less, I'll have a medium mocha with whip from Coffee People. Every two or three days I'll have a can of Coke, and once a day (sometimes once every other day) I'll have a cup of English Breakfast blend tea.

As I mentioned in my tea thread, I'm recently discovering the wonders of loose leaf tea, especially combined with the cute little press-pot Mr. Ambrya got for me, so I'm hoping I can find a blend of English Breakfast or something as tasty that is decaf so I can have more of it.
