even though I know this doesnt go here, I thought Id share some vids I made today from a raid my guild did in EQ2. Yeah its on the EQ2 forums as well, but most of you dont go there and I thought one or two of you may get a kick out of them. They do have music in case you need to mute or lower your volume.

First one crashed my browser. How is Gore still alive in EQ2 wasn't he killed in EQ1?
Gorenaire was a raid target in EQ1. I dont know the lore specifically but I do know that a lot of the raiding targets from EQ1 are back in 2.

Gorenaire was killed lots of times in EQ1 but she kept coming back in that game, why not in EQ2!

My main toon is a l337 70 dr00d with 200-ish AAs and a horsey that outran anything.

the progression server defintely sounded cool, but Im already playing EQ2 full time and WoW part time, I just dont have any other time to squeeze it in. I think 2 games at once is my max

I just started a mage on Sunday and got her to level 8, I think. Big enough to smack down Rungupp, not big enough to survive the chaos that is the Warrens. Holy flaming gnoll death.

What's this progression server thing all about? I used to play eq back in the days when luclin was the newest expansion. I quit around the time planes of power came out.
It's the EQ developers' way of admitting they screwed the pooch when they introduced aliens into a high fantasy game, basically.
You start out with bare-bones EQ. When both Vox and Nagafen have been defeated, Kunark is unlocked. When the planes gods have been defeated, Velious is unlocked, and so forth.
Some stuff has been kept in the game, of course. They couldn't roll it back to square one without also reintroducing a lot of bugs and pain points.

It's a server where currently no expansions are enabled. Guilds complete all the end-game content for the given era and the next expansion opens. Vox, Naggy, Phinny, CT and Inny were all taken down within 2 weeks of the server opening by folks who play alot more than I, but Kunark won't be opening till the 28th, at which time guilds will need to complete all epics, kill all dragons, and Sky before Velious opens, and so on and so on...
It's really just a server that's rolled back seven years and progresses at a rate of about an expansion a month right now.

I rolled a couple of toons on Sleeper. There was supposed to be an allah chat set up by folks on the EQ board, but nobody is ever on it.
Anyhoo, I'm primarily focused on EQ2 with DSD, Gitslayer, JohnnyNY, Sickabilly, sometimes Bhodi, and once in a great while we will be honored with the presence of his Nobship.
