Kao was dying to tell me about the movie, so I had to let him know I had seen it. At least Kao wasn't like Instigator who tried to give me spoilers ALL DAY, I had to threaten to log off because he wouldn't shut up.

Besides Nobby won't be awake for at least another hour or two. Smiley: cry But if you see him on, tell him to call me, I need some cyber.

I have the 8125 as well, I just got the hookup on the dataplan because the sales rep didn't know that the phone should go on the PDA plan. That was nice, 10$ less per month for unlimited interweb access.

The only thing that bugs me is that even after a short time, the keyboard locking mechanism wears out and while it still feels solid, its just not as tight.

I just need to find a browser for it that doesn't blow ***.

I've been considering getting a cell phone for years, but I hate being that reachable, haha. Honestely, I just want one for emergencies, so I'm probably going to get something prepaid without any sort of a plan. Something about the fact that the minutes eventually expire if you don't use them really irritates me though, or I would have gotten one already.

I also live in the middle of nowhere and will have to determine what might actually work. I should probably consider just learning smoke signals and start carrying some flint and tinder.

I felt the same way. I finally broke down and bought one a few months ago on a pre-paid plan. I managed to use a whole 20 to 30 minutes of time in 2 to 3 months. I like it for those times when I'm running late or when someone I'm meeting is running late.

Let me get this straight. You can't type properly on a keyboard but thumbing it on a phone works well for you? I see everything is spelt correctly up there.

Clearly you need to post from your phone all the time!

Indeed!

And from what I understand he can't see what he typed until AFTER he hits enter. Maybe he needs to just keep his eyes closed while he types?

I don't actually use the phone part of it that much, my wife uses all the minutes working as a real-estate agent and all that.

I use my phone as an excuse to get a really cool tech-toy.

Yeah, we haven't met or you'd know that I shouldn't be allowed to carry a squirt gun, or a can of silly string...or play dough...the list goes on and on...

Just wait a few more years, Nexa. If you haven't needed a phone yet, you can do without it for a few more years.

Not that a newer phone is coming out or anything, but once your kid starts school, that's when you'd be more inclinded to own a phone. At least, I know I would.

I'm actually thinking of getting one just because I kinda live out of town a bit and it seems silly to have AAA but no way to call them if I go off the road or something. Also, I want to be always reachable when the kiddo isn't with me, just in case.

Wait about 2 years or so and AAA will be able to work with GPS on member's vehicles Smiley: tongue We just implemented them into our fleet trucks here in Pittsburgh, works very well. National is supposedly in negotiation for a carrier for the whole country so who knows.

I'm too cheap to buy a prepaid phone because the minutes expire after 3 months, so your recommendation is to buy a new car with GPS? I like you, you're cute.

The not being able to see part applies to the phone IRC client. I can see the web post form one line at a time, though if I type more than a sentance or two, I have to scroll.
