The 60's are over. Liberalism is facing a slow sure death. A return to a more conservative Christain society is all but a reality already. Separation of church and state is undergoing a long awaited review. Our founding fathers were God fearing men. Liberalism is all but deceased in this country or at least the far left is dead or dying.
Oh, you people make me laugh. No, really you do, with all your prophecies and certainties about the future of your country.
We call this kind of baseless rant "wishful thinking". These things (feminism, liberalism, etc..) are not "dying". Nothing dies, everything evolves. It's a pendulum, not an arrow.
From the other side of the pond, it seems strange that so much time is spent on those religious/individual issues, when there are so many other focked up things to sort out in the US.
Is it really the role of governement to impose their religious beliefs on all individuals? This smacks of a theocracy to me. Gay marriage and abortion are popular theme, and yet there is no social basis for banning either. It's just religion. And when you place religion above the rights of the individual to choose for himself, I find it dangerous. And no, a one week old foetus is not an "individual".
I find it even worse when its guys that want to ban abortion. It's not your body, it's so easy to say "well abstain." You don't give a ****, you go in, splash out, and forget about it. If there to be a referendum about abortion, only women (and foetuses) should be allowed to vote. But guys saying "it's not
your body once a foetus is inside" is just hilarious. But only cos I live abroad.
Anyway, I know it's election time, so anything goes, apparently.
