GILFORD, Mich. - A teenager who flew to the Middle East to be with a man she met on MySpace.com said Friday she intends to marry him.

"I love him very much," 17-year-old Katherine Lester said of Abdullah Jimzawi, 20, who works in his father's business delivering goods to West Bank convenience stores.

Lester appeared on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" with her father and stepmother. Jimzawi also spoke with ABC during a taped portion of the segment, describing how the pair "can't live without each other."

After hearing what Jimzawi said, Lester began weeping.

"It's true," she said. "I love you. That's all I can say."

The two first encountered each other about seven months ago on the social networking web site but have never met face to face.

Lester, who turned 17 on Wednesday, was en route to Israel earlier this month when she was intercepted in Jordan by U.S. authorities who seized her passport and put her on a flight back to the United States.

Jimzawi has told The Associated Press that the two planned to marry and that Lester planned to convert to Islam. Lester, a Christian, declined to say Friday whether she intended to convert.
The two have resumed communication online since she returned home.

"Our initial reaction was to isolate her, to lock her up and just keep her safe here in America," said her father, Terry Lester. "But that's unrealistic because you can see the love they have for each other."

Authorities filed a runaway juvenile petition against Lester earlier this week, and a judge ordered her to give up her passport and undergo counseling. If the judge finds that Lester was a runaway, she could be placed under court supervision until she turns 18.
Hoo boy. Good luck working that little detail out. Smiley: laugh

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Okay, I get the idea that love finds you when you might not be ready, or when you least expect it. But she's 17, does she really know what love is? With what she pulled, I get the impression that she's got this idealized concept of love where she was going to run away, they get married and live happily ever after. Did they think about any of the other issues that comes with the ever after? And then her parents don't seem mad at all. It's okay what she did because she's in love??? I'd be Smiley: motz as all hell.

I concur. I suspect her parents must have "interesting" parenting methods if they let things get this far in the first place without even the slightest suspicion.

But hey, if they don't work as a couple, I'll say this: sometimes I WISH my ex's lived across an ocean from me.

Apparently she "tricked" her mother into getting her a passport. Figure that one out.

Her parents are as dumb as fuc[Darkolivegreen][/Darkolivegreen]king stumps.

My guess is they're not very familiar with the nature of internet relationships, since they're treating it like the real deal.

Yes, yes, I know some of us met the loves of our lives over the internet, but I for one didn't consider anything as more than fantasy until I met the person in the flesh (so to speak).
