Indictment: Plot meant to be 'greater than 9/11'
Quote:
MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- A federal indictment against seven men revealed Friday details of what the government said was a plan intended to "kill all the devils we can."

The mission was intended to be "as good or greater than 9/11," beginning with the destruction of Chicago's Sears Tower, according to court documents obtained Friday by CNN.

Basically, all the worst parts of the bible.

This part is the best:

However, senior federal sources told CNN, "These people were not related to al Qaeda." When asked whether they were al Qaeda wannabes, he replied, "possibly."

So do that brand new thing

At this point I don't think a terrorist plot stands a chance in hell if it involves (a) large amounts of ammonium nitrate, and/or (b) an obvious target like the Sears Tower.

At least the media gets a quick hard-on off it.

They only have to get lucky once to succeed, we have to be lucky every time to stop them.

Has this administration relied on anything but luck (whether or not it was good or bad luck in the end)? Smiley: dubious

Its always about luck. We take efforts to decrease their chance of success, but they still have a chance to succeed, just a much smaller one now. For us to stop every attack we have luck with us every single time. For them to suceed they have to be lucky just once.

Imagine it as the Kamikazzee attacks on a carrier group in WW2. 40 japanese planes would fly in to suicide attack the carrier and all the CAP, AAA on the destroyers etc. would shoot them down. It only takes one plane hit to seriously damage a carrier. Often we destroyed entire waves without one getting through, but it was still about luck, eventually some did get through.

Well, I guess that allows for a ready excuse when an attack happens -- "we just didn't have luck with us this time"

Kamikaze tactics had nothing to do with "luck". It was about attempting to use superior numbers and unconventional tactics used to swamp a foe unprepared to block that form of attack. Which certainly has a ring of a terrorism allegory to it, but doesn't excuse using "luck" as your crutch.

It did. Smiley: frown

That and I was so bored by the topic that I decided a lame ***, obscure "Katie's a *****" post should lighten the mood.

Sorry, all I'm good for is random movie references. Even I've mostly laid off the katie's-a-***** bit.

It's mysterious in my opinion. I mean...why Schlitz when Mickey's is so much more satisfying? Kinda makes you think doesn't it?
