Actually, I think ya'll is becoming more popular elsewhere, because my husband who is from PA uses it as well.

Oh, and I was sort of shocked that I got "100% Dixie, is general lee your grandfather?"

I have almost no southern accent (ask those who Yahoo). But, considering I have spent 99% of my life in Mississippi, I suppose I picked up the local terminology, heh.

58% Dixie

That's more or less what I'd expect (I'd have guessed a little closer to the north). Born in Texas and lived there for 7 years, which was just long enough to develop a tendency to slur my words a bit, and get some of the southern terminology ingrained in my head.

Other than that though, I don't outwardly appear to be much of a southerner. When I tell people that I'm from Texas, they typically don't believe me.

I was hoping to be even less Dixie, but I guess I still need to be able to understand Nadenu.

frontage roads

We've done this quiz before, as I remember that in the south they are all not frontage roads... but in my home town the major one was named "Frontage Road" so everyone called them that. My home town was definitely in the South.

I also remember talking about TP'ing, and that I've never heard it called anything but that.

As for me...

I guess it helps that I live in Virginia?

Nothing wrong with being a Reb' though. I'm rather surprised that much of the language that I use on a daily basis would be considered "Great Lakes" or "Northeastern".

I just wonder how I pick up a few Texas phases. In all of my travels Texas was one state I have avoided like the plague.

For the rest I show my mid-western roots with a mild New England accent. Guess growing up below the Mason Dixon line hasn't corrupted me too much. Though I think, I am beginning to pick up a bit of Bawluhmoranese, Hon.

I miss living near the one that delivered. Now I have to order a pizza and sweet talk the pizza guy to bring gin and cigarettes.

I think I only scored that high because there was no "wtf is that?" option for the question about bugs that curl up when you touch them.

Jacobs, in MN, we've got the freeways that go along their merry ways. There are often long stretches with no entrance/exit ramps, except when crossing major roads. The frontage road is often the only access to the homes and businesses along those stretches.

If you've never seen a Rolly-Polly then someone has to either mail you one, or bring one to the next event.
