I have a habit of being slightly behind anything that's new or current. Maybe I'm just uncomfortable with change and need to wait till something's been around for awhile to get used to. It spans most aspects of my life. My computer? A 2.6Ghz Celery with a GeForce FX 5700. Fashion? Khaki and denim. Music? 70s rock. Movies? 80s cheese.

I also tend to live behind the times when it comes to television. I just now got into That 70s Show, though the final episode just aired last month. I've seen an episode here or there and didn't know much about it. Which is a shame, because it seems to have been tailor-made for me. I DVR every airing (3 different channels in syndication) and get nice and baked to watch.

I could have been Eric Foreman. Well, a lamer, less cool Eric. I would have been, if I was born fifteen years earlier. I should have been, if I had been an aspiring actor. Mannerisms aside, I actually looked like that in the 90s. The intro of the first season illustrates the similarity (to my own percetion of myself, that is). Hell, compare these photos of me and Topher Grace. Especially when his hair was redder in the earlier seasons.

Aside from that, I just keep finding ways to integrate myself into the show. I love redheads. My parent's semi-furnished basement was where people would come over to smoke up. I have a friend who acts just like Hyde. I, myself, love getting high and watching Star Wars. It's like I missed my calling. Even episodes mirror my life. One scene with Red and Kitty at a diner turned into the painting "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" which happens to be on the wall above my TV. Another episode involved Eric, lounding around without his pants, while Donna was off 'dating' Fes. I watched this while wearing just my boxers while my girlfriend is away. It goes on and on.

So, does anyone else watch the show?

I used to watch the show and actually found it pretty funny.

Then I stopped watching tv, so I have no idea what's happened in the last couple seasons.

The early seasons are great. Things got a bit weird later on, and then they blew it when Topher and Ashton left. I mean, Eric was the main character. It's like when rob Morrow left Northern Exposure...so they brought some other big-city doctor. Smiley: rolleyes

These shows and the people who like to watch them only confirm my deepest held suspicisions that 99.999% of humanity are numbskulls. For extra laughs, why not go rent, "Dude, Where's My Car?"

Anyway, on subject (sort of), I started watching That 70's Show fairly recently too. The fact that I'm able to watch it is a decent compliment, since I'm not much of a fan of sitcoms (or most television in general). The characters were all pretty fun, until as you said, the much later episodes when everything sort of fell apart.

I'm more of a fan of Mila Kunis though. It's a constant struggle trying to reconcile the looks with the character's attitude, heh.

Well, many episodes are named after Zepellin tunes (as well as The Who). I was also going to get sentimental about my past ten years after highschool, but decided not to.

Not at all; she makes a great porcelain-doll princess. What's really weird is reconciling her as the voice of Meg on Family Guy. Smiley: dubious

Oh come on, what's wrong with a little good-natured fun? Not everyone is always so highbrow like you. Smiley: lol

I agree with your assertation that most people are numbskulls, just arguing my own inclusion in said category. The fact that I have watched "Dude, Where's My Car?" notwithstanding.
