Over the last few years I have been getting tonsilitis yearly. Nothing horribly serious. I haven't gone under the knife just due to the fact there is a medicine refered as the Z-pack. Three pills three days and no more big tonsils.
It has never been to bad. Usually pain and fever, this recent one the same. No regurgitation or bad BM, just big, sore tonsils and a fever to match.
Now, living on my own and being poor I am not under my mom's healthcare plan so when I first got sick I waited 2 days and said, "Ok, if I don't feel better tomorrow, to the doctor."
Well, on the third day I felt noticably better. Still a somewhat sore throat, but no more fever which felt great. The next day I barely noticed my thoat sore so I decided no doctor.
My mom said she used to have the exact same problem as a kid and then just one year she basically did what I just did and after that she never got it again. The only thing was ever after her tonsils where a little larger.
Now, it has been about 2-3 weeks and my tonsils are still large as if I have it, but they are not sore at all. I feel no discomfort, I can eat food, stuff my face and choke down an excessively large bite with no pain our abnormalities. My main question or concern if anyone knows is: Is there any negative reprocussions in doing this? Did I ignore it and the case is worse and I just don't notice this? Or does tonsilitis come and go? Or, once I get it it stays until treated?
