I think I will rely on the wacky concepts of "soap" and "not sleeping with hookers" to prevent my ******** from becoming infected.

My sons weren't circumcised until ages 4 and 7. It was done at the same time, and I wouldn't have had it done if it was my decision only.
My husband didn't have our oldest son circumcised at birth. Oldest one was born in the Philippines and it couldn't be done there, for some reason. Younger son wasn't circumcised at birth either, for a number of reasons.
A few years later, my husband decided that the boys needed to be circumcised. I wasn't sure about that whole idea, but I deferred to his decision on it. I remember after the bandages had to be taken off, the boys were crying and screaming and I was severely upset about the whole situation.
That sounds like about the worst possible way to do it. At least with an infant, they're barely conscious of the whole situation, and they will grow up comfortable that circumcised is their natural state.
At ages 4 and 7, they are aware that it's happening and are old enough to retain memories of it. And yet they probably still have no real understanding of why it's happening. And even though one of them is at the "age of reason," he was given no choice in the matter. Seems pretty cruel.
