As, indeed, it was in the early 1970s.

Haha, I liek what that guys says, pretty interesting look on a totally insane topic. However, I don't understand one thing: why should coke even be mad if the pop rocks thing was in fact true, but its not, i've tried. Seriously, coke makes its product it's not their resposibility to drop every known food substance into their drink to ensure heads won't explode. It's something that comes by coincidence. "Hey Kids! Mikey ate pop rocks and drank coke and his head exploded don't do it yourselves" end of story. of course then we'd see a rash of suicides because kids wanted to try it too.

A more realistic one would be with your stomach exploding... I remember awhile back on mythbusters they actually tested that with a pig's stomac. Didn't really explode, though it did distend pretty badly... so you'd get a pretty bad case of gas. If you couldn't burp maybe it would explode if you drank enough... but I think they had to put like a 6-pack down and like 2 or 3 full packs of pop-rocks to even get close to the point of the stomach "exploding"

You don't have a karma camper. You have a bunch of people who think you're a fu'cking moran for posting a Mr Wizard experiment.

What ever happened to Mr Wizard anyways?

True tomec, but still, why should coke be mad, its not their fault this obscure combination of consumables can "cause the stomach to explode." What if drinking sprite, and eating a big mac, along with a fun pack of skittles, and some beef jerky, caused your intestines to melt...its not the responsibility of teh Coca-Cola company to test trillions of food combinations to see if it will have a dire effect on someone.

Because you don't understand Corporate America or the advertising biz. Keep your chin up, kid.

Diet Coke And Mentos Experiment

6/11/2006 - An awesome show put on using Diet Pepsi and Mentos. These guys are like the blue man group meets Mr. Wizard. Maybe someday they'll have their own vegas show.

Was it diet coke? Or diet pepsi? The headline says coke. The paragraph underneath it says pepsi. The title of the page says "Diet Coke and Mentos experiement", but the site url is "www.break.com/index/pepsimentos.html"

Maybe they just didn't want to commit to a single brand?
