Until you go in for your below knee amputation. Can we call you Peg Leg Pete after the operation? Maybe Hobbles?
#108REDACTED, Posted: Jun 16 2006 at 7:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You can call me Ben10

So did you go to the doctor yet or not?
#110REDACTED, Posted: Jun 16 2006 at 8:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I went down to the clinic yesturday and they said that they don't do medical (Just dental and mental) and the lady gave me a paper of places to call. So I'm gonna call them after work.

Shoulda taken them up on that mental thing Smiley: lol

I mean really, stabbing yourself in the toe with a nail and leaving it? What WERE you thinking.

I went to the podiatrist today for another problem (ended up being a ruptured ligament in my foot) but while I was in there I showed him an ingrown nail that I had discovered last night.

He said it looked "angry" and cut it out and put me on antibiotics. He was somewhat concerned about the redness around the toe so the antibiotics are to prevent infection. I didn't even have any pus like what you are describing.

Basically, I'm just confirming that you are retarded for not going to the doctor, among other things.
#113REDACTED, Posted: Jun 16 2006 at 12:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Then he took your insurance...

People without money are still treated in public hospitals. We do pay taxes for a reason.

Just like he'll take your toe...

Actually, the total cost for EVERYTHING that was filed to my insurance including the office visit, 3 X-Rays on the foot with the ruptured ligament, a special shoe to wear on the ligament foot, and the removal of the ingrown nail was around $380. Even if everything else was free, I'm going to say that avoiding an amputation would be worth $380.
#116REDACTED, Posted: Jun 16 2006 at 12:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well I got money now so I really don't have a excuse...

Sure you do, you want to have a peg leg! Smiley: lol

Seriously though, go get that looked at and hope it isn't too late.

Oh, and the procedure to have it removed was totally painless and took about 5 minutes. He said there is a 95% chance that it will never happen on that side of that toe again.

I do not recommended watching it though.
#119REDACTED, Posted: Jun 16 2006 at 12:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh so it's that easy?
#120 Jun 16 2006 at 12:34 PM Rating: Decent
He sprayed some really cold stuff on my toe so that I couldn't feel the injections going in. Then he gave me 4 injections to numb it and gave me about 5 minutes to get good and numb. He came back in and next thing I knew it was over.

That's just not right. Only pu[Beige][/Beige]ssies use anesthesia.

Sassy is tougher than me, so he should probably request to have it done without anesthesia.

If you really want to experience what living is all about, the next time you have a cavity and go to the dentist to have it filled, do it without freezing.

I've done my last 3 cavities like that and I'll tell you it's wild. The doctor can usually drill my tooth right down to the dentin before I feel anything at all, which is 95% of the work. The part you have to experience is when the dentist drills out a bit of healthy dentin from around the cavity site to ensure there is no rot left. That is fuc[Azure][/Azure]king nails! I don't describe it as pain, but it's definately a VERY intense localized feeling. Then make sure they let you sit a moment before getting it filled to let the feeling wear off, otherwise you will feel pressure in that tooth for a day or so. If you just wait a few mins, then the "pressure" feeling goes away and it's all good.

Try it! You only live once.
