I'm not girly enough for champagne, evidently. I haven't had any yet that I didn't think was horrid. It's fine in a mimosa though!

I'm old as hell, and I still think beer tastes bad.

VodkaRum/Tequila and margaritas all the way. Occasionally wine.

People who say they don't like beer are usually drinking the wrong stuff. I don't feel like going on a "good beer" rant right now, its too early. Read my Beer Journal.

According to the beer gurus, bitter tastebuds don't finish developing until you are through growing (20-25).

Also, women are usually much more sensitive to bitter tastes. Beer just doesn't taste the same to them as it does for men.

Hate to rain on your parade (wait, no I don't), but I passed 25 a LOOOOONG time ago.

Your palate also has to become more familiar with what you are drinking. Say you drink a 6 pack a week of the same beer. After a couple weeks that beer will taste different. A beer you hated in the past (a real beer not BMC) may taste different the next time around or longer down the road. I used to not like Barleywines, that changed a couple months ago when I had an aged batch from Iron Hill in PA.

Maybe you should have thought about that before you started baking a storkmuffin, eh?

Pirates drink rum. Captain Morgan ftw. Yarrrrggghhhhh!!! Online music "piracy" ftw too. We know that's more "in" than beer or the ipod. The ipod is but the vessel to haul the booty. Yarrrggghhhhh!!!

Nope. Not national pirate's day...

We used to make the cheap Irish Velvet drink at parties all the time. Keg of cider (don't remember the brand atm), mix half and half with Guiness. Good for large crowds.

I'm not super partial to wines. Very few of them taste "good" to me. I do have a friend who's into making homemade wine though. I can tell you that his plum wine was easily the yummiest thing I've ever consumed. And it held well too (which surprised me). I forgot about a bottle of the stuff. Recently opened and drank it. 13 years old and still incredibly good. Was afraid it would have turned to vinegar, given that most home made stuff doesn't last. After his stuff though, it's just hard to get excited about any wine that I'd actually be willing to spend the money for.

Beer is "ok". Got to be something microbrewed or a decent import. I've never been disappointed with a Sam Adams (actually I think there was a holiday flavor one year I didn't like, but that's it). There's a few local beers I'll grab when I'm in the mood, but that's about it.

Liquor is all about Vodka. It's natures perfect liquor. Don't get me wrong. There are other liquors I'll drink, but generally only if there isn't any vodka around, or I'm bored, or there's only crappy vodka. I'm partial to Ketel 1, and that's what I typically buy. If I'm planning on only mixing with juice, Skyy is good as well. Not a huge fan of Absolute (and not really sure why, probably because it's too trendy and not really deserving of its popularity). Some folks rave about Grey Goose, but I just can't get behind a French vodka. A friend of mine picked up something called "Six", which I tend to drink when I'm visiting. It's got an odd taste to it though, and seems to give me a headache. Not sure what they did to break their vodka, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It's all about figuring out what you like...

P.S. Try the Polish Vodka.
