Going into the latest Gay Marriage thread, I was happy to see a slightly different slant on it than the previous times. But that was a short lived joy as I saw it quickly moving into the same usual arguments. So be it. But it inspired me to do something I had joked with Flea about before -- make an index of the "greatest" threads debating the usual major topics.

I tried to keep it to timeless classic topics and threads of at least two pages but preferably 3+ and ones that stayed more or less on track for the length of the thread. Feel free to suggest topics or threads since this was a real rush job.

I's day I need to quit posting those, but I honestly am interested to hear what you fu[Antiquewhite][/Antiquewhite]cks have to say. (Except for Moe, because I know what he'll say, and Gbaji, because I don't read it.)

People tried to use the fact that homosexuals don't reproduce as evidence that it's not genetic.

I don't even remember that conversation at all (and I'm not going through all the gay rights threads looking for it) but I have heard of people with Downs having children.

It's extremely rare.

The point is that you do not have to have a genetic condition for your child to have it.

The fact that gay people don't reproduce doesn't mean there's not a gay gene. High School level science would show that.

O RLY?

I mean, I understand that a gay couple cannot technically have their own child, but gay people do actually have babies.

Well now that just misses the point entirely. I wasn't the one arguing gays can't reproduce. So I don't know why you're linking that.

It was just one little trivial point in a 3-page long thread, and I didn't expect it to evolve into another drawn out thread. The point was that people ignorant of genetics were making false statements to attack gays.
