OK, since Flea'lo set me mind racing about nick-names. . .

Any of you have or had odd nick-names?

Mine was usually some puerile variation on my name, but notable ones at school were a guy who I only ever knew as 'snot-gobbler', and his not-so-smart friend known universally as 'Village'

So any clever/embarassing ones out there?

Oh, and ToUtem, say it as many times as you like, but we know they didn't call you 'tripod' in a kind way. . .

Since you mentioned Flea'lo, are we talking posting nicknames or real life?

I've never had a RL nickname that stuck, posting name notwithstanding. I don't think I'm the type that invites it, although I can't keep a person's name intact to save my life.

"Jugs" lol.

Used to be when I played football they called me Juggernaught cause I was unstopable and stuff, and it got shortened to jugs. But not that I'm out of shape and overwieght the term has taken on a new meaning Smiley: grin

No nicknames here. At least none that I'm aware of. Or does a shortened version of my real name count?

Mr. Phelps by some of my high-school buddies.

Oddly, when I was in 6th grade, every time I passed by this certain special needs girl, she and her similarly handicapped friends kept shouting at me, calling me a snake....

On my Melancholy days it's always "Memento"

Quote:

Cuando yo me muera,
enterradme con mi guitarra
bajo la arena.

Cuando yo me muera,
entre los naranjos
y la hierbabuena.

Cuando yo me muera,
enterradme si queréis
en una veleta.

¡Cuando yo me muera!

That could only work in Castilian.

I've had more nick-names than I care to remember. Some of my close friends in High School and College to this day wouldn't be able to tell you my real name. My closest friends now rarely call me by my real name. Hell, it's even bled over into my family.

My real name is Richard. I have never liked to be called by a nickname. Ever. In steps a friend of mine, she is the type that has to give everyone a nickname. I say "No nickname, they are lame." She says "Pfft, yea right Dick!"

My only consolation is she likes to greet me with "Hello Dickalicious!" and say "You are the Biggest Dick Ever!" Which has, I admit, garnered the interest in me, from other woman on occasion. Now if only she meant those things in that way and not just to annoy me.

Incidently, the practice of changing Dick to Richard by the swear filter is insulting and degrading. I demand free premium or I will sue Nobby. Or something.
