Adult Swim is bringing another show populated by flesh-and-blood actors to its late-night world, but this one fits a little better into the cartoon landscape.

Starting Monday, July 10, "Pee-wee's Playhouse" will join the Adult Swim weeknight lineup. Cartoon Network's late-night alter ego plans to air all 45 episodes of the half-hour series, plus a 1988 Christmas special that has rarely seen the light of day since its initial airing.

I suppose that Pee-Wee's Playhouse is about as close to a cartoon as a live action show could be Smiley: laugh

Haha, nice. I haven't seen the show since it was originally on the air. I wonder if it has aged any better than all those other shows that were better in my memory than upon actual reviewing.

The Pee-Wee movie is still good though.

The only thing I remember about that show was the word of the day. I always got a chuckle out of that.

I was such a big PeeWee Playhouse fan when I was growing up. It'll be neat to check the show out again.

Though...kinda weird for it to be in Adult Swim. I think that's just more "Hot Topic Merchandise" influence. I can see all the t-shirts and wristbands now...

I liked the movie, didn't really get into the show that much. But it just occurred to me why I may like shots of tequila now and then.

Odd that it's on Adult Swim..it's been on the air for years here in VA...usually about 2 in the morning, but still on.

It has gotten better with time, things are funnier now that it was then.

I have the series on DVD. Yes, an episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse is still a great way to start one's Saturday.

If Adult Swim does it it has to be good.
