One of my friends and I have been making tentative plans to go see "The Omen" but she's extremely scared of ... scary movies - who woulda thunk it.

I'm hoping that she doesn't back out though cause I actually really want to see how this one compares to the original. All signs point to it being even scarier then the first which is great.

As for family, friends and the like - I know my father will be guarding his church with his "knight's of Columbus"...yeah. Anyway, a lot of the people I know aren't taking any summer semester classes so they're off in other states (fu[aquamarine][/aquamarine]cking bio core, only one class and I'll be certified for pharmacy tech but it still sucks cause I have to stick around) and hopefully I'll be joining a few others at some parties. Some of the rave scene and techno clubs are going all in for 666 so what the hell.

I assume sassythief will be running a non-stop marathon of hellboy.

Not to keep belaboring the obvious, but it's a hell of a stretch to pretend that June 6, 2006 has anything to do with three "6"s in a row, isn't it?

But any excuse is a good excuse for a party, I suppose.

I've been wondering the same thing, FleaJo. The Omen, which is due to come out on June 6th, has been touting the date, as if it's significant, but ignores the reality that the numerical date is actually 6-6-06, not a particularly scary or Satanic number in my book. But hey, the world over wanted to celebrate the new Millenium a year early too, so what's a few minor details when marketing a product is the goal?

Exactly, I'm not saying it means anything. I truly could care less but if it means there's more things to do on an otherwise relatively boring weekday night then why not?

Wow, my buddy has the same birthday. He was also born in '77. How weird is that?

Nope. Actually, it's 06-06-06. An even less scary number!

Just tread carefully, because the OOT got a little inundated with goth/emo threads a little ways back. Apparently it's a touchy subject over there (who'da thunk it?).

If you're not careful, somebody might come in and try to "educate" everyone about the specific qualifications of being what they call a "true" goth or emo.

This is qft. I saw some of that and can't explain why I read any of it (guess I was curious wtf an "emo" was - and having once laughed at Emu Phillips, I think I got confused ("Did you miss me? Of course I did - ever since I took the sights off my gun....").

Anyway, we do not want it here.

We had a ridiculous number of ceseareans scheduled yesterday. I suppose none of these ladies wanted to be the Mother of the Antichrist. Sheesh.

If you (are stupid enough to) click on the digg link and look at the comments, you will find that digg is not an emo-free zone.

Caught "The Omen" tonight. The theater was packed which is rare around here, especially on a Tuesday night. Pretty good show. My wife screamed out-loud at least 2 times Smiley: laugh
