Wow, they're getting quite good at the sob stories for scams now.

Quote:
Hello my good friend!

I was born in Austin Texas USA, and my dad was from there while my mum was
mixed, half
British and half Australia. My fairly tale started when I was just three and
half years
old according to my daddy when I lost my mum. I didn't grow up to know who
she really was
or what motherly love was all about. My father had to raise me up all alone
till I was
thirty-two before he died, six years to be precise now. He had leukemia and
the doctors
could not help much for him to survive. I知 the only child of the family.
And It was when
I lost my mum that my dad build a house in Texas, that was where I grew up
and spend most
of my life.

But I never believed anybody want to be with a man like me who got a fairy
tale about life's
experience. If you really want to meet me for real, I want you to know the
problem I have
and what my hard experiences about life was okay. Please read this carefully
and you will
understand the kind of person I am and where fate in life have placed me
presently.

I met this woman few years ago before I moved out to Africa to see what life
has to offer me
there and I did had my university education there, before I obtained my
bachelors degree in
accounting, after which I return back to United Kingdom 2004 November 27th,
because my father
raised me never to have friends due to he had bad experiences with friends
and colleagues
when he was much more younger, but this woman Chenille, a German was the
only one living
with me in UK, for over fourteen month before she asked if I could come with
her over to Africa
to see his Uncle so we can engaged and equally get married afterwards. And
this have being my
great expectation since I came to knew her so that I will be happy after all
the sorrows I have
had in my life. I accepted to go on the trip to West Africa with her. I did
saved enough to keep
us comfortable while we were away, to the extend of withdrawing all the
money that were in my
account about thirty five thousand United States Dollars. Just to make sure
that we lack nothing
on this trip Africa.

But unfortunately, when we got to Africa she took me to stay in a hotel, and
after few weeks and
days when we arrived here, she brought a bottle of Champaign and I thought
she wanted us to have
fun together without knowing that she have different motive in her heart. It
was afterwards,
when I woke up in the hospital that I was made to understand that I have
being drugged for
twenty-four hours. By this time, she had gone with all my stuff, my money,
my mobile phone, my
return ticket, can you imagine, how heartless we human can be sometimes? And
only thing that
I知 left with now is some cloths and nothing else, I知 all alone here with a
note from her
saying that she have gone to Ukraine, with another man, the man she really
loved and cherish.
She has been keeping from the first time she came to Africa.

Right now I知 in a hell of trouble. I was left out here all alone with some
bills to take care
of at the hotel I知 staying and the hotel management won't let me get out of
here if I didn't
pay the bills, Itç—´ really crazy. I feel like killing myself. At the moment
I have an
outstanding bill on my accommodation and $780 US dollars for the Internet
services provided for
me here by the hotel management. The hotel manager has seized my passport so
that I will not run
away. Please I need your help to get my life back on track and start up a
new life. I promise if
you can get me out of here by helping me pay the bills to the Hotel
management, I will surely
make it up to you and hopefully I will accept that I have found a new life
with you as my
guardian angel. So please it's up to you to decide on what you can do to
help me in this
present situation.

Waiting to read from you soon. I never knew my life will be like this, but
what can I do, I
never imagine that I will found myself in this kind of situation in life?

Yours in desperate need,
Mr. Abel Christopher.

This isn't intended for me, I don't think.
It's a missive from the edge of despair, I mean brink
of total desperation; the communication therein
says her hopes for survival are slim
and she's writing to the Front, though we've yet to meet,
with a confidential matter cause she's heard I'm discreet.
And the urgency of her request for my aid
is matched by the depth of the trust she displayed.
"Don't betray me like our oil minister did, staged a coup
and I'm about to flee Nigeria soon
but I'll never make it out," she says, with twenty million
three hundred twenty thousand US dollars that are still in
her possession. She embezzled them, I guess.
Look, I don't really know her so uh... that's none of my business.
She's the LADY MARYAM ABACHA, deposed.
These days can't even get her caps-lock key unfroze
but yo, something 'bout a widow in distress
(with 20 million dollars hidden in a metal chest)
softened up the Frontalot's heart no doubt
so I hit the reply button, tell her I can help her out.

She writes me back: DEAR FRONTALOT, UNITED STATES...
she acts so thankful. A bank full of money awaits!
And I hate delays so I'm quick to turn around
with my full name and the number to my checking account
and the scan of my license to drive an automobile
and my passport number proving Frontalot's for real!
Then I'll meet the money in Stockholm, ain't gonna walk home,
think I'll retire to the south of Spain and sip gazpacho.
Not so quick, there's a little problem.
LADY A apparently had difficulty running all them
numbers I give her, but look, the fake ID's my only one
and that's a real passport, I got it off usenet and checked,
I'm not dumb. I'm not some idiot
who's about to lose your money for you, quicker than I'm getting it
and of course my bank balance is negative, whose isn't?
That's why I need your 20% money laundering commission.
And I'm wishing I could talk about this further with you but I can't.
I just got an email from DR. UBUGU of Chad.
He's got a hundred and seventy-seven million in a bag.
I feel I got to help him 'cause his story is so sad.

it was just like a scene in an intrigue film
and I'm still not convinced that it wasn't for real
