If you would recommend me some rock you like from the [60's] 70's and 80's. The common stuff and some obscure bands.

A few that I know and like are Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osborne etc.

I only come here because this is the only place online I can find so many old people.

Please & Thanks.

I don't want to sound like a wuss or nothin, but I've been listening to Tears for Fears. I really dig it.

Go for the classics, old Rush, The Doors, The Velvet Underground is good (If you can possibly find any).

Or you can go the route of Zepplin, Floyd, and Dio. The obvious options.

Jethro Tull are different, Early Def Leppard and Iron Maiden where better than the modern stuff if you like Black Sabbath.

Deep Purple, The Who, Whitesnake and Bowie are more mainstream rock and would be in Genre.

Cream.

If you want truly obscure, "Images of Matchstick Man and You" - I forget the band. "Thirteenth Floor Elevators."

Janice Joplin.

Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers, Exhile on Main Street - they've been shrinking in the shadows of those albums ever since.

Yeah, Tull is great.

By the way, we're not old people. You're a tadpole. Lose your tail already.

By Allman Brothers, do you mean the band or both of the actual brothers? Duane has been dead a long time, and if you saw him live, you are old.

Smiley: laugh No, I'm not that old. It was the most recent incarnation of the band, though Di[black][/black]ckey Betts was still there. Must have been around '99. Duane was dead years before I was ever around.

The Who, The Guess Who, Supertramp, Alice Cooper, ACDC, Heart, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Scorpions, The Police, Sweet, The Kinks, Cream

Those are some good bands.

I don't know much of obscure bands from before the early 80s DC punk/hardcore scene.

Russ Meyer directed Beyond the Valley of the Dolls - Roger Ebert wrote the script! Best of all, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls and Valley of the Dolls are coming out on DVD in about 2 weeks! Freakin' A!

The Who, The Guess Who,

This should never happen. Having the The Who and The Guess Who seperated by only a comma might lead the uninformed to come to some sort of conclusion that they are in some way related or simmliar, when one is the seminal rock band of all time and one sang future Lenny Kravits songs.

Wrong. Just wrong, I say.
