Yeah, I know this isn't the ideal place to come for advice, hahaha. But I'm not overly concerned and alot of you have kids so just reassure me anyway...

She's sorta thrown up twice this morning...once right after her first bottle, and then again a little while later. She didn't seem overly bothered by it and if she really has a fever, it's only very slight. I took it twice and the two averaged to about 99 so...

She's pretty whiney and clingy and didn't want breakfast. She's having another bottle now and I'm hoping she'll nap a little afterward. From what I can find out online and from dear Dr. Spock, it may just be indigestion of some sort or maybe a very common stomach virus. You folks with kids...common? Clear up relatively fast? I'm going to call the pediatrician in a couple hours if she seems to be any worse.

If she's taking a feed and keeping liquids down she's fine.

Unless it persists more than 12 hours or her temperature stays unduly high, I'd recommenrd cuddles and kisses,

If she is making 4 wet diapers a day she is not dehydrated. If you cant get her to keep formula down try a bit of water or pedialyte if your pediatrician oks it. But sometimes they are just not going to eat no matter what you do.

Oh, and yes, very common. She should be over it in a few days. Just count those wet diapers and offer her bottles when she will take them, but don't force her.

Noah used to go through that a lot. Not just spitting up, but really horrible throwing up. But he would do it 2 or 3 times, then he was fine. Like Xythex said, it's pretty common with kids.

Well I just got off the phone with the docs (and she's thrown up again...I'm on my third outfit of the day and she's in her forth). The verdict is that I don't need to bring her in, but I can't give her anything to eat or drink for two hours, then a tsp of pedialyte every five minutes if she keeps it down. After that I can try giving her up to a half ounce, and nothing solid for six to eight hours. Today is going to be even more fun than I had anticipated! 9am and the first load of pukey clothes is in the wash!

Poor baby. Smiley: frown

I'm sure it's nothing, but I'm sorry she's not feeling well anyway. Miss Hannah needs to be the sparky lil duchess we all (feel like we) know and love!

Thanks. She seemed to be feeling better, so I thought I'd let her run around. She immediately fell down and hit her face so now if I do have to take her to the doctors, they can also ask about the bruise in that overly-sweet "now you haven't been beating the baby have you?" tone. That always makes my day!

She hasn't thrown up for a while. She hasn't eaten either though, so we'll see how it goes.

If you don't like reading about my daughter vomitting, too bad! I love to share my misery!

Aw, I'm sorry hun that today's not exactly a bunch of roses for ya. Like everyone else said, just keep on counting the wet diapers. Don't force her to eat anything solid if she doesn't want it. Little sips of pedialyte or the juice popsicles (use the pedialyte ones) usually worked wonders for my little one.

Glad to hear she's feeling better Nexa.

I remember when my daughter threw up once and we called the doctor and the first thing they asked us was, "Is she projectile vomiting???" I was just like, "Huh?" cause that just does not sound good at all. She explained projectile vomiting is when it flies so far out of their mouth it literally hits the wall. I was very relieved that my kidlet wasn't as sick as they were asking, but was wondering what kind of Exorcist-sick kid they'd encountered before. (I later found a section on projectile vomiting in the book, but gawd damn was I scared)

I've only ever done that once, but that once it was in 5th grade right after they decided the "open classroom" thing was a good idea and replaced all the desks with cubicles. I had eaten scrambled eggs and grape zarex (which is like koolaid basically) and wasn't sick or anything but just suddenly shot a stream of purple sludge into the cubicle wall where it bounced off and hit me in the face.

I could never drink kool-aide like things again after that.

I was a pukey kid (and baby, apparently). Often with no warning. I'd go to bed feeling fine & wake up because I had to make a mad dash to go throw up. It was never anything serious, some kids just have touchy stomachs from time to time.

Projectile vomits? They're fun. My oldest niece almost got me with that one. I was doing my auntie coochie coo thing with her, she was happy and smiling, then there it was, out of nowhere. She didn't seem bothered by the incident in the least.
