Somebody should initiate some sort of tort reform bill to prevent frivilious lawsuits like this.

Hell, I can't remember, are achileez and shadowrelm the same person or not?
#11 Jun 01 2006 at 3:35 PM Rating: Good
Achileez is Virus under a new name, and one presumes he must've been banned to have to start over. That, or his karma got so low that nobody could read his drivel.

the lawsuit is right wing politics. the vet signed an agreement allowing Moore to use his interview in the documentary.

moore used HIS words. were they taken out of context to support Moor,s view? you bet. welcome to american media. lawsuit has no merit and no purpose other than political payback. makes you want to see who is footing his layers bill, doesnt it? welcoem to american politics.

In a suit that also names Miramax Films Corp. and several other film companies, Damon says Moore never sought his consent for using segments of an NBC Nightly News interview with Damon while he was in hospital.

Somehow I'm guessing that NBC owns the rights to that footage, so Moore only has to get permission from them, not Joe Schmoe.

I agree that the dollar amount is rediculous, but I think that was the point.

1. Smash is interviewed by the Boston Poker Club on the advantages of long masculine locks at the texas holdem table.

2. GeeDuhbYah's people uses the roos face and various comments to cut-and-paste together some propaganda material saying Poker is the devil.

3. Smash says "Met and raised" to the tune of a rediculously high dollar lawsuit.

Outcome? Bush's bluff is made public. Teh smash's tresses are upheld to be the game winning distraction they are meant to be. No money paid, but now the flutter of something that bothered john Q has passed and he is free to slide that game card and leer at the waitress once again.

I know you didn't just correct someone else's spelling and misspell "ridiculous" in the same post.

I know that didn't happen.

The further away from a free market the health care system is the worse the quality and higher the price will be, by definition. In real terms all that government regulation and intervention has cost millions of lives and left many worse off medically. But people like Moore and Hillary Clinton are morons who could care less about real effects, and only care about their violent enforced agendas. And on the other side of course you have monopoly seeking drug companies causing a similar effect.

The solution is extremely easy. Gut all regulation of the health care system, including tax breaks, subsidies, Medicare, Medicaid, and ban all Patents. Prices would quickly plumet and quality just as quickly skyrocket. Simple supply and demand. You can't charge riduclous rates for things when people can't afford those ridiculous rates and competitors offer the same thing at cheap market rates.

Government screws it up the same way they ***** up education and the result is absurdly high education costs. Every dollar government throws in the form of subsidies, credits, whatever, is just another dollar those institutions raise their price by. Duh. It's $900 hammers throughout everything government gets involved with.

Edit:

And since I just solved the health care crisis I might as well solve the education crisis too. Fire 99.9% of all the teachers and administrative staff. Broadcast the best 0.1% of the teachers lectures live and saved on the internet. Simulate everything that is learned at 1/billionth of the cost. Innumerable links showing steps, on-line tests, on-line materials, etc, available and individually tailored to every student's own pace. No more reason to pay $500/hour in tuition, and education is truly as free as can be and of equal quality for all who want. You want to toss pom poms or run around an oval? Do it on your own time in your own youth leagues.

So basically, just random wikipedia articles for the students to read at their leisure. Makes sense.

If Michael Moore is a Commie, he's a damn rich one. He uses a "professional shopper" to buy clothes for him.

Of course, Fidel is supposed to be a billionaire or thereabouts. Fidel denies this, however. He denies it vehemently and with veins in his face.

While I think he's a self-aggrandizing jerk who has become filthy rich while pretending to care about the poor, I hope he kidney punches the HMOs. I doubt he will - he just isn't talented. But it'd be nice to see the HMOs take one in the lower back.
