The Violent Femmes: Kiss Off

Quote:
I need someone
a person to talk to
someone who'd care to love
could it be you
could it be yo-ou

the situation gets rough,
and i start to panick
its not enough
its just a habit
and, kid, you're sick
darling this is it

well you can all just kiss off into to the air
behind my back
i can see that stare
they'll hurt me bad but i won't mind
they'll hurt me bad they do it all the time
yea yea
yea they do it all the time
yea yea
they do it all the time
yea yea
they do it all the time
do it all the time
they do it all the time
do it all the time
they do it all the time
do it all the time

I hope you know that this will go down on your permenent record
oh yea
well don't get so distressed
did i happen to meantion that i'm impressed

i take one, one, one, cause you left me and
two, two, two, for my family and
three, three, three, for my heartache and
four, four, four, for my headaches and
five, five, five, for my lonely and
six, six, six, for my sorrow and
seven, seven, n-no tomorrow and
eight, eight, i forget what eight was for and
nine, nine, nine, for a lost god
ten, ten, ten, TEN, for everything, everything, everything
EVERYTHING!

well you can all just kiss off into to the air
behind my back
i can see that stare
they'll hurt me bad but i won't mind
they'll hurt me bad they do it all the time
yea yea
yea they do it all the time
yea yea
yea they do it all the time
do it all the time
do it all the time
do it all the time
do it all the time
do it all the time
time time time time
timetimetimetimetimetimetimetime
do it all the time

There's plenty of other stuff that comes to mind as well, but none of it's any better than Violent Femmes.

I need to download some Violent Femmes. I forgot how much I used to love them.

Also, everyone seems to have forgotten the pinnacle of depressing-yet-upbeat: The Cure.

Gordon Gano = the Edgar Allen Poe of Punk Rock.

I've been on a Violent Femmes kick this week. I was surfing through comcast on demand and they've got a Violent Femmes concert on there. For free of course.

Gordon Gano looks like a serial killer.

Especially while singing Country Death Song.

I dug up "Add it Up" and ended up buying the 20th anniversary edition of their self titled debut.

Those two Albums (but 3 CD's cause of the goodies on the anniversary album) have been on repeat in my apartment for about 3 days now (on my new stereo system to boot!)

I too, had forgotten how much I loved the Violent Femmes.

Unfortunatly for Myspace, however, the only two songs they have are Blister in the Sun and Add it Up, /cry.
I can't share the beauty that is I've got Girl Trouble Up the *** with the people who click the link in my sig...
