THE perfect song for this funeral:

Suicide is Painless

Through early morning fog I see
visions of the things to be
the pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see...

[REFRAIN]:
that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.

I try to find a way to make
all our little joys relate
without that ever-present hate
but now I know that it's too late, and...

[REFRAIN]

The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
so this is all I have to say.

[REFRAIN]

The only way to win is cheat
And lay it down before I'm beat
and to another give my seat
for that's the only painless feat.

[REFRAIN]

The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but...

[REFRAIN]

A brave man once requested me
to answer questions that are key
is it to be or not to be
and I replied 'oh why ask me?'

[REFRAIN]

'Cause suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
...and you can do the same thing if you please.

Hi all....

bit of a family crisis and coming to you all for help.

My brother (32yrs young) commited suicide on Saturday. As a bit of backstory on him he was a lover of music from depeche mode and ministry to George Jones and the Beatles ... semi pro skate boarder and and all round hell of a guy. Thoughts?

Hehe "No Show-Jones" the Keith Richards of Country Music, try "He Stopped Loving Her Today" or "If Drinking Don’t Kill Me (Her Memory Will)".

Should be a real crowd pleaser.

Papa Roach - Last Resort

Seriously, who the f'uck are you and what the f'uck do you think you're doing looking for something serious from us? Have you never f'ucking read a thread in here? Moron.

Since it's been brought up though, for all of you who aren't sniveling weiners, a couple of thoughts...

I am not a mourn at the funeral guy. I am all for "Good on ya!" and celebration after a death. Life is, after all, hard, and the poor ******* made it to the end. That being said, my list would be:

Led Zeppelin - Ramble On
Social Distortion - Story Of My Life
Foo Fighters - Times Like These
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Dire Straits - Walk Of Life

And of course, what list could be remotely complete without...

Freebird!

No, not really, you f'ucking dolt.

I figured some of you would know him from WOW, but if not, then it really is senseless to come asking for advice for such a sensitive matter from total strangers. I mean, I know that if someone in my family passed on, I'd talk to the rest of the family first before I even thought to ask the opinion of anyone on a message board. It's even more illogical to get upset because you don't garner the sympathy of folks who don't make it a habit to take any post at face value. I even doubt Deb poked his GF today.

That said, he's gonna rate-camp you now Moe, and I'm fresh out of rate-downs for him. Smiley: frown Maybe he'll post again. Not that I'm holding a grudge or anything, I just rate-down folks I don't recognize. Ask anyone, honest *****.

You "think?" I mostly see you spewing.

If you don't choose to shut it off, ever, for any reason - it's your right. But it is what it is. No amount of red-faced indignation will change that.

Think I'm gonna kill myself
'Cause a little suicide
Stick around for a couple of days
What a scandal if I died!
Yeah, I'm gonna kill myself
Get a little headline news
I'd like to see what the papers say
On the state of teenage blues

A rift in my family
I can't use the car
I gotta be in by ten o'clock
Who do they think they are

I'd make an exception
If you want to save my life
Brigitte Bardot gotta come
And see me every night

Think I'm gonna kill myself
'Cause a little suicide
Stick around for a couple of days
What a scandal if I died!

Saturday Sun by Nick Drake. He's having a bit of a resurgence after VW used his song "Pink Moon" in a commercial a few years back. Nick Drake also took his own life after bouts with substance abuse.

Nick Drake wrote:

Saturday sun came early one morning
In a sky so clear and blue
Saturday sun came without warning
So no-one knew what to do.
Saturday sun brought people and faces
That didn't seem much in their day
But when I remember those people and places
They were really too good in their way.
In their way
In their way
Saturday sun won't come and see me today.

Think about stories with reason and rhyme
Circling through your brain.
And think about people in their season and time
Returning again and again
And again
And again
And Saturday's sun has turned to Sunday's rain.

So Sunday sat in the Saturday sun
And wept for a day gone by.

(Yes, Sporkwidget, the decoy worked as planned. When the "red flag" was waved in their faces, they chased it and largely left the OP alone, allowing him to mourn in peace. Well done - oops - someone's looking - pay no attention to that midget behind the curtain!)

Hey, we all need something to make Mama proud. So glad you've all done your parts. Just makes my buttons bust to see you guys walk up and kick the teeth out of a man who is down. No greater form of human achievement - it's heroism, I tell you. Pure, 100% heroism.
