Couldn't you just tighten up the spacing? Or force [sm] in quotes?

So, aesthetics out the window as long as it takes up less space?

At this point it looks like a monkey f'ucking a rhino. Its not like there aren't 6,527,314 other quote styles out there you could have stolen. This one is just plain wrong.

I really preferred the old quote function, even if it could at times be page consuming. Simple and elegant compared to any other forum I have seen.

Does it really need to change? Or at least do you have to rush it with half baked ideas like this one?

Sweet Molly Malone, nested quotes are even worse!
Ok, who's responsible for this cluster-fu[Antiquewhite][/Antiquewhite]ck?! Someone needs to get beaten with a cane and stuffed in a trash can. Smiley: motz

On a related note, I wonder how many nested quotes it would take to break it with the new version.

I don't know where it starts and ends. If anything BOLD teh quoted material ala Smash
It's time for another tea party. Smiley: glare
Like this?

Or maybe we can just put a line under it a'la that guy that can't type right (no, not Kelvy Smiley: flowers the guy that sucks).

Horrible

WTF?!

Default to small text on quoted text instead of this clusterfu[Aqua][/Aqua]ck. AT LEAST FIX THE DAMN FIRST LETTERS FALLING OFF OF THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE WINDOW WHEN YOU USE QUOTES.

*ahem*

I think that's all.

It looks exactly like that.
That's the problem.

Sorry, when I said 'exactly like that' what I really meant was 'kinda like that, only more brokeded'. **********************************************************************************************

As to formatting suggestions, have you considered bulleted list? Similar in layout to the new one, just without all the silly colored bars.

Fuc[Antiquewhite][/Antiquewhite]k that. Go back to the old system. By all means make it take up less room after all that is what you're going for isn't it? At least with that format I could read it and understand who said what where and when.

No silly colored bars, all of a sudden I can't get rid of ads, and the stupid page is wide as all get-out and I fu[Aquamarine][/Aquamarine]cking despise side-scrolling.

Good job fixing what wasn't broken.
